Dyslexia Tutoring and Assessing I am qualified to do full diagnostic assessments for Dyslexia, both privately and in schools.

Dyslexia means having a difficulty with the written language leading to problems with reading, writing and spelling. Dyslexia occurs across intellectual abilities and both boys and girls have Dyslexia
Dyslexia runs in families and it is common for several members of a family to have Dyslexia
Dyslexics tend to think in pictures rather than words

Dyslexia can co-occur with one or more of the follo

wing; Dyspraxia, ADHD or specific language problems
Dyslexia can cause these underlying weaknesses with;
• Short term memory
• Phonological skills [recognising, pronouncing and sequencing sounds]
• Sequencing and structuring information
• Speed of processing information
• Focus and concentration
• Hand-eye coordination
Dyslexia can mean strengths with vision and creativity

Answer yes or no to these questions:

Do you need to read text more than once to work out what it says?
Do you miss out words or lines when you are reading?
Do you find it difficult to remember spellings?
Does it take a long time to express thoughts into written form?
Do you sometimes forget names of people and/or places?
Do you forget information and instructions that you have just heard?
Do you find it difficult to pronounce some words when you are reading?
Do you make mistakes when reading aloud?
Have you ever had a problem with telling the time?
Do you find it difficult slow to learn sounds and phonics?

If you answered yes to six or more of these questions, then it is possible that you or your child has Dyslexia. See below for more information about Dyslexia.
