Get out and enjoy the Grounds this weekend. 🌳

Whether you're looking for adventure, fresh air or somewhere to stop for a bite to eat, there's plenty to discover at Bowhill.

Little ones can burn off some energy in the Adventure Playground, with swinging slides, climbing forts, rope towers and plenty more to enjoy. 🛝

If you'd rather slow the pace, explore the lochs, woodlands and hilltops, keeping an eye out for the wildlife and nature that call the Grounds home. 🐿

When it's time for a break, head to the Old Kitchen Café for a light lunch, sweet treat or warming cuppa, and take a browse around the shop while you're there. 🫖

And if the weather isn't quite on side, our indoor soft play area offers plenty of fun for younger visitors.

Grounds open daily, 10am - 5pm.

The perfect place for a dog walk... 🐾

The Old Pepper Trail is one of Bowhill's scenic way-marked routes, taking in views of the Upper and Lower Lochs before winding through enchanting woodland.

Named after the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, the trail celebrates Bowhill's unique connection to this rare breed. With fewer than 100 puppies born in the UK each year, every Dandie Dinmont can trace its ancestry back to dogs owned by Bowhill gamekeeper James Kerr in the 1830s.

A beautiful walk, a fascinating story, and plenty for both two and four-legged visitors to enjoy. 🐶

A wonderful tradition returned to Bowhill on Saturday as the historic Selkirk Silver Arrow archery competition took place on the grounds. 🏹

Dating back to 1660, the event sees members of the Royal Company of Archers compete using longbows in a traditional tournament steeped in history.

The day began with a ceremonial procession along the Lochs Road to the Vista before the competition got underway.

📸 A big thank you to visitor Craig for sharing these photos from the day.
