Take a stroll... 🥾

With the immediate Grounds now closed during the week, there are still plenty of ways to explore the wider Estate.

One of our favourite routes is Lady’s Walk - a way-marked 3-mile loop beginning and ending at General’s Bridge Car Park.

The route takes you through the historic Lime Walk, where trees still line the path as they have done since the Victorian era, before following the peaceful course of the Yarrow River and passing Newark Tower from below. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife along the water, including dippers and kingfishers.

📣 Remember - if you're an Annual Pass holder you have access to the Grounds year-round.

👻 The Shape-Shifter’s Sanctuary: Mary Dore’s Lost Legacy
Step into the magical world of Mary Dore and follow the Halloween Trail through the Grounds. Use the booklet, packed with tales, riddles, missions and clues to help uncover the true mysteries of Bowhill.

🎃 Pumpkin Patch
The trail will conclude at the Walled Garden pumpkin patch. Little ones can grab a mini wheelbarrow and set off to find their perfect pumpkin, with lawn games to enjoy too.

🧙 Crafts & Cinema
There’s plenty more Halloween fun to discover, from spooky-themed crafts in the Courtyard Gallery to a classic Halloween film in the Bowhill Theatre. Plus, the Adventure Playground and Courtyard Soft Play are included in your ticket.

🌙 Trick or Treat Night
On 30 & 31 October, experience Bowhill after dark. Follow the trail by moonlight in your best fancy dress, spot spooky characters, collect some Halloween treats and enjoy the illuminated atmosphere, toasted marshmallows and more.

Thank you for joining us this summer! 🧡

We’re so grateful to everyone who has visited us over the season - from House guests and families enjoying the Adventure Playground, to those who’ve explored the Grounds, enjoyed a leisurely stroll or simply stopped by for something tasty to eat.

While we’re no longer open daily, there’s still time to enjoy the Grounds this September.

BOO! Halloween Happenings return to Bowhill this October! 👻🏰

From 10th–31st October, Halloween events will take place on selected dates, inviting you to uncover some of Bowhill's ghostly tales as we present:

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲-𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆: 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆

🕷️ Follow a mysterious Halloween trail through the Grounds, with a booklet for little explorers to guide them along the way, plus spooky props, decorations and curious surprises to discover.

🎃 The Bowhill Pumpkin Patch returns to the Walled Garden. Pick your perfect pumpkin to take home and carve or decorate, and enjoy a selection of family-friendly Halloween games and activities.

🌙 Trick or Treat Trail Nights – experience the Halloween Trail after sunset, with atmospheric lighting, spooky characters and Trick or Treating for an extra dose of Halloween magic.

🕸️ Get stuck into DIY crafts or settle in for a seasonally themed film in the Bowhill Theatre.

There’s just one week left to enjoy a House Tour at Bowhill! 🏛️✨

Our Victorian Home Tours run daily until Monday 31 August, with tours at 11am, 1pm and 2.30pm.

We recommend booking ahead to secure your preferred time and avoid disappointment on the day. Your ticket also includes access to the Grounds, so you can make a full day of your visit - explore the beautiful surroundings, enjoy a bite to eat or browse for something special to take home.

Fun for the whole family! 🛝

After the first few days back at school, the kids are definitely due a weekend treat!

Head to Bowhill and let them loose in the Adventure Playground, with hours of fun for all ages. From twisting slides and towering climbing frames for the big kids, to smaller chutes and apparatus for little adventurers, there’s something for everyone – and we mean everyone! 😆

Don't forget - when it’s time to refuel, the Old Horsebox is right there in the Playground, serving up drinks and light bites.
