Would you be interested in volunteering for the Road Warden Scheme in Bovey Tracey?

Town Council members are considering whether the Council should join the Devon County Council Road Warden Scheme.

Before members consider this further, it would be useful to gauge whether there is interest from local residents in volunteering as part of a proposed scheme for the Bovey Tracey and Heathfield area.

Devon County Council funds the training of local Road Wardens, who can then work with volunteers to undertake a range of practical tasks, which may include:

- Supporting the management of verges for native wildlife
- Maintaining and repairing finger posts
- Removing debris/weeds from pavements, gullies and water channels
- Cleaning information and directional signs
- Filling shallow road defects

While our plans to improve the play park in Prince Rupert Way are progressing well, could BROW HILL Playpark also be better?

Teignbridge District Council is INVESTING in play parks. Help them decide where the funding is spent!

Money for the project will come from developers.

BUT THE PUBLIC MUST SPEAK UP AND SAY WHERE THEY THINK THE MONEY SHOULD BE SPENT.

Garden Club visit for Mayor Sheila Brooke
She writes: ‘The Bovey Tracey Garden Club was buzzing on Saturday! Visitors were treated to a wonderful display of entries including vegetables, flowers and home baked products. Children had their own section and entered some wonderful miniature gardens. I had the pleasure of presenting the trophies. Delicious home made cakes with tea and coffee supplied by Bovey Tracey Fairtrade were available for visitors to enjoy while they caught up with friends and neighbours. Well done everyone for all your hard work to provide Bovey Tracey with yet another free event to enjoy. ‘
