What an incredible achievement! 🏍️✨

Back in May, Dorset’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride became the second largest ride in the world, behind New York City, with over 1,000 riders riding through Bournemouth’s coastal towns.

Together, participants raised an amazing £100,000+ for charity, supporting men’s mental health causes while bringing thousands of visitors into our area.

Bournemouth Coastal BID is proud to sponsor this fantastic fundraising event, helping to create better business, boost footfall, and strengthen Bournemouth’s reputation as a destination. From its start in Sydney to now taking place in more than 100 countries, it’s great to see our town playing such a significant role on the international stage.

Thank you to everyone who took part, supported, and helped make this event such a success. 👏

At Bournemouth Coastal BID, we're delighted to see Bournemouth Beach as well as Sandbanks featured in Condé Nast Traveler’s as one of the best beaches in Europe for 2026.

Recognition from one of the world's leading travel publications is fantastic support of our destination and everything that makes our coastline so special. National and international exposure helps to attract visitors, supports our local businesses, and reinforces Bournemouth and Poole’s reputation as one of the UK's best coastal destinations.

We're also proud to co-fund the Blue Flag awards that continue to recognise the quality of our beaches and coastal environment. These internationally recognised standards help ensure visitors can enjoy some of the best beaches in the country.

And with summer just around the corner, there's even more to look forward to. Our popular fireworks displays on Bournemouth Pier return in July, adding another reason for visitors and residents alike to enjoy everything the coast has to offer this season. 🎆

🌸 Bournemouth Coastal BID continues to invest in making our high streets vibrant, welcoming, and full of colour this summer!

Here’s what’s been happening across the area this week:

🌼 Over 75 flower pedestals have now been completed and refreshed with beautiful summer planting, provided by Bournemouth Coastal BID.

🌿 Four stunning pagodas have also been planted and installed, helping to brighten key locations and create an even more attractive environment for residents and visitors.

🚛 Our Green Machine, funded through government support secured by Bournemouth Coastal BID, continues to be a valuable community asset, helping with watering plants, graffiti removal, and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the area.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in helping keep Bournemouth’s coastal communities looking their best this summer! ☀️

From Durley Chine to Fisherman’s Walk and beyond, Bournemouth’s coastline has once again been recognised for its exceptional standards in cleanliness, safety, environmental management, visitor facilities, and water quality.

These nationally recognised awards, funded by Coastal BID, reinforce Bournemouth’s reputation as a high-quality coastal destination for both residents and visitors alike.

This achievement is only possible through the continued collaboration between local organisations, businesses, and the wider community. We work together to create a better business environment, distinctive destination, safer day and night experience and enhanced environment.

The Westbourne Motor Show is back 🏎️🙌🏻

What started as an ambitious local event has evolved into one of the South Coast’s most exciting destination experiences, built through years of collaboration, community support, and incredible local business involvement.

In partnership with The British Motor Show, Westbourne has gained national recognition, helping put our coastal district firmly on the map as a place that can deliver large scale events with real impact.

This year marks another huge milestone, with the full closure of the Westbourne one-way system for the very first time, a reflection of just how much the event has grown and the support behind it.

The event is designed to encourage visitors to explore everything Westbourne has to offer while supporting the brilliant independent businesses that make the area so unique.

The Westbourne Motor Show is quickly becoming more than just a car event, it’s a celebration of community, local enterprise, coastal culture, and destination experiences all in one.

We are pleased to have supported the Bournemouth Soul & House weekender this year 💛 a brilliant local event that brings energy, vibrancy, and a strong sense of community to our coastline.

Bournemouth continues to play a vital role in supporting a vibrant programme of cultural and music-led events. We are proud to support initiatives that enhance the area’s appeal and contribute to a thriving local economy.

Across the four days, the event welcomed over 700 people passing through its doors, highlighting its growing popularity and impact.
