Good luck to all venues reopening next week 🍺

IT'S TIME!!! IT'S OFFICIAL, WE WILL REOPEN THIS MONDAY - 6PM

We have been closed for 6 MONTHS but we are FINALLY abled to open, without a curfew, and without a substantial meal

Sticking to compliance of current COVID laws, we will still have to operate with table service of a Max of 6 people / 2 Households, HOWEVER we will be taking bookings for people to definitely get a table. We will also leave a portion of our tables unbooked for walk-ups!! You will also still need to sign in / use the track and trace app upon arrival!

GOOD NEWS is that we will be back to our usual operating times of 6pm til 3am (5am on the weekends if its busy).

TO BOOK: Please message this page, and we will get back to you asap! If you don't get a response, its likely we are fully booked, or rushed off our feet, and walking up on the day may be more beneficial

Our picture attached, taken in Anvils basement/venue, features our good friend Elysa, presenter of the ever growing The Road To Rock Podcast! Be sure to check her show out!

Fast track pavement licences just announced for venues 📣

Ahead of any changes to government guidance BCP Council has set up a fast track pavement licence service for any high street business, including local cafes, restaurants, bars, wanting to use the space outside their premises for table and seating arrangements.

Find out more and submit an online application➡️ http://orlo.uk/mJH0G

Under the plans, an enhanced team has been set up to make sure that once applications are received, they are processed within 14 days, meaning decisions will be turned around swiftly. Where viable, it means businesses will be able to set up furniture and use the space outside their premises once a licence has been granted.

120 businesses across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole already have a pavement licence.

Some of you may already have seen the announcement this morning of a £2.25 million Emergency Grassroots Music Venues Fund for GMVs in England (http://musicvenuetrust.com/2020/07/grassroots-music-venues-to-be-saved-by-government-cash/). We wanted to share a little more information to give you the context of this announcement.

England
- The Emergency GMV Fund opens today at midday and closes on 3 August. This pot of money is specifically for GMVs which need an urgent injection of cash to pay landlords and other creditors to tide them over until 30 September.
- Applications for up to £80K will be accepted but Arts Council England are hoping that venues will apply for small amounts (only what they really need) so as many GMVs as possible can be helped.
- A larger Cultural Recovery Fund will be launched soon and will accept applications for longer term support needed to weather the crisis.
- Venues can apply to both of these funds plus the newly reopened Supporting Grassroots Live Music Fund (the ring fenced pot launched by ACE last year).
- All funds are being administered by ACE for England but MVT's work is referenced throughout, they link to our GMV definition in the guidance for the Emergency Fund.

Scotland
- Two weeks ago Scottish Government Economy Minister Fiona Hyslop announced a £2.2 million fund for GMVs in Scotland (http://musicvenuetrust.com/2020/07/music-venue-trust-welcomes-2-2-million-fund-from-scottish-government-for-grassroots-music-venues/)
- MVT has been working with Creative Scotland and Scottish Government on the criteria for this fund and hope to have more news soon.

Wales & Northern Ireland

Congratulations and good luck to the team at Belgium and Blues Bournemouth on their reopening 🍻🍺🍻.

Although it’s been a great week so far at B&B Bournemouth we are not yet confident that opening full time makes financial sense so we are going to limit our hours until August.
Takeout will be available still during opening hours, just pop by and say hi 👋
Tables are booking up for next Wednesday onwards so book if you can. If not then give us a buzz and we’ll try and juggle you a space 🍺
