🎉 Happy 85th Birthday, Anne! 🎉

Anne celebrated her 85th birthday in the comfort of her own home at Westbourne House, Bournemouth, surrounded by friends and loved ones, with a special birthday lunch chosen by her.

Anne's menu featured delicious homemade crab cakes with sautéed red peppers, new potatoes, green salad and Thai sauce, followed by panna cotta with fresh raspberries, coffee and mints. 🍽️✨

A big thank you to our wonderful team for creating such a warm and welcoming setting, and to Chef Alex for preparing such a fantastic meal. We hope these little touches made your birthday special! 💜🎂

Throughout the week, residents, families, friends and neighbours are warmly invited to join us as we celebrate seven decades of friendship, community and support - our theme is 'Rock 'n' Roll'!

We're delighted to welcome Nick to Abbeyfield Wessex Chipping Sodbury, where his enjoyable exercise classes are helping residents stay active, strong and confident - as you can see, they had a ball!
Regular movement plays an important role in improving balance, strength and mobility, all of which can help reduce the risk of falls and support independent living. Just as importantly, these sessions bring people together, boosting wellbeing, confidence and friendships through fun, laughter and shared achievement. 💜

👑🎉 A royal weekend across Abbeyfield Wessex! 🎉👑

As His Majesty The King, Patron of Abbeyfield England, celebrated his Official Birthday, our houses marked the occasion with delicious food, friendship and plenty of royal spirit.

At Clandon House, residents enjoyed a special Supper Fit for a King, created by chefs James and Richard, before everyone came together to sing God Save the King.

At Westbourne House, residents celebrated Trooping the Colour with a three-course lunch – including a steak and kidney pie fit for a King! The day also marked 70 years of Abbeyfield, with thanks to our wonderful kitchen team for making it so memorable.

At Abbeyfield House, Romsey, residents enjoyed a traditional roast lamb lunch followed by an evening tea of Eggs Benedict and muffins – a truly regal treat.

At Prestbury House, residents also come together to mark Trooping the Colour and enjoy the occasion in true Abbeyfield style with a special flag cake.

Weekends like these are a wonderful reminder that sharing great food, celebrating together and enjoying each other's company are at the heart of life at Abbeyfield Wessex.

A huge thank you to all of our chefs, kitchen teams, staff and residents who made the celebrations so special. 💜

As we enter (15-21 June), we're proud to celebrate the power of community.

At Abbeyfield Wessex, reducing loneliness is at the heart of everything we do. Across our houses, residents enjoy companionship, shared meals, social programmes, events, and the reassurance of being part of a welcoming community where people look out for one another.

We also open our doors to the wider community through coffee mornings, lunches, social groups, entertainment, and volunteering opportunities, helping people build meaningful connections and friendships.

A simple conversation, a shared laugh, or a friendly face can make all the difference.

Together, we can help ensure that nobody feels alone.

We're looking for a Weekend Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team in Westbourne, House, Bournemouth. If you have experience in food preparation (and ideally serving meals), this could be the perfect opportunity.

Turn your weekends into something truly rewarding by helping prepare delicious home-cooked meals, brightening someone's day, and making a real difference to the lives of older people.

🍓🍊 Fresh from the garden to the freezer! 🍨

Chef Rhi has been busy creating delicious homemade ice cream for residents at The Laurels, Porlock. These flavours are Orange and Strawberry & Honey, made using strawberries freshly picked from our very own garden.

It doesn't get much fresher than that! 🌱🍓

A perfect sweet treat to enjoy on a sunny day, or between the raindrops. ☀️🌦️
