The redecoration continues at Boorley Green Community Centre - the team have been hard at work in the main hall - luckily the decorators don't seem to have a problem with heights as the cherry picker has been needed.

No corner is being left untouched - today our deputy clerk had the unenviable task of emptying the storage cupboards to allow for them to be decorated - at least it's not quite as hot this week.

A big thank you to our main hall hirers who haven been super flexible and have relocated to other available spaces to allow us to get things done.

A nature inspire post this evening with photos and videos thanks to Estates Apprentice Alisia.

The team have been working down at Pudbrook this week clearing the river and banks and also testing out a Robot mower.

They were greeted by this beautiful golden-ringed dragonfly and also spotted a small shoal of fish and a dragonfly lave in the water

Over the course of the last year we have been working with Mark Howard Jones Art on our community art project - a giant frieze to be hung in the foyer of Boorley Green Community Centre.

We launched the project at Revels on the Rec last year and we will be officially unveiling the piece at our next community event - Boorley Vintage Fayre.

Visit the community centre between 1030 and 1600 on Sun 7th June to see the artwork speak to Mark

You can find out more about the piece here:

We have just been out and checked the MUGA (at the Botley Centre) and the surface temperature has dropped significantly so we are happy to open it for free play.

If you do come down please do take care as it is still warm - remember your water and suncream.

Unfortunately, the MUGA at The Botley Centre will be closed today as the surface temperature has reached an unsafe level.

We will check the temperature again on Wednesday morning and confirm if the MUGA will be open tomorrow.

The Parish Council are happy to open the MUGA at the Botley Centre for free play during the school holidays - please see the image for available days and times.

The MUGA at Boorley Green next to the community centre is managed by Eastleigh Borough Council and is open 7 days a week for community use.

We love to see the MUGA in use but can we politely request that you always ensure that it is left in the state you found it and any rubbish is disposed of in the bin just outside.

Our estates apprentice Alicia made a new friend on Friday when she found this beautiful male stag beetle having a nose around the estates workshop. Alicia made sure he was safely relocated and a little later a female stag beetle was also found and relocated.

These amazing creatures used to be a common sight, especially here in the south of the UK, but sadly they are declining. They’ve even become extinct in a couple of European countries. The People's Trust for Endangered Species are asking people to join the effort to save them this summer by recording their sightings for the Great Stag Hunt.

We have logged ours and if you are lucky enough to see one you can do the same by clicking on the link below:
