Rosegarth Square to officially open this September 📢

The transformation of a key gateway to Boston town centre will be marked at a special opening event to be hosted by Boston Borough Council next month.

Residents are invited to celebrate a new chapter for the town as work is completed on Rosegarth Square, designed to breathe new life into the area with an event on September 19 welcoming a new, modern and accessible area, designed to enhance Boston Town Centre by creating a new gateway for visitors and residents.

The regeneration of the area has seen Boston Borough Council acquiring and then demolishing the former B&M and the Crown House buildings to make way for redevelopment. The new Square will officially open to the public after major investment from UK Government. This area has been designed to help celebrate the town’s heritage and history while creating an improved space for residents and visitors to use and enjoy.

The official opening event will bring together local residents, businesses, project partners and community stakeholders to mark the completion of the redevelopment. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore the new square, learn more about the project's impact and take part in the celebrations.

The regeneration of Rosegarth Square forms part of a wider commitment to creating attractive, sustainable and people-focused public spaces that support economic growth while improving quality of life for local communities.

Further details about this free family friendly event and the opening ceremony will be announced in the coming weeks on our social media channels.

Further information of the project can be found on our dedicated website - https://rosegarthboston.co.uk

🔥 The recent Government alert has increased awareness of wildfire risks, which has been very important with the recent weather.

Our crews are working around the clock to keep our communities safer, and that includes our fantastic control team who take calls and help mobilise firefighters every day.

They’ve noticed a sharp spike in non-emergency 999 calls since the alert.

Please remember that 999 should only be used to report emergencies.

Where there’s a fire, visible plumes of smoke, people at risk, get to safety and call 999.

If you're sharing information, concerns about potential fire-setting or risks and there's no immediate danger, we still want to hear from you, but please do this through FireStoppers on 0800 169 5558 or online via www.firestoppersreport.co.uk

Help us keep 999 free for emergencies.

Distraction in the kitchen is one of the leading causes of fires and kids can reach pans faster than you think.

➡️ Turn pan handles inward
➡️ Keep children out of the kitchen when cooking
➡️ Never walk away from the hob
➡️ Remove pans from the heat if you need to leave the room

Stay alert, stay safe.

If a fire starts: Get out. Stay out. Call 999.

🔎Buying from online marketplaces can be a convenient way to find what you need. And with a few simple checks, it can be safer too:

• Check the seller – their name, location, and how long they’ve been selling
• Read reviews – look for detailed comments, not just star ratings
• Check product details – look for instructions, warnings, and what it’s made from
• Look for trusted safety marks – like UKCA or CE
• Check for recalls – search ‘product recalls’ on GOV.UK

You don’t need to be an expert to shop safely online.
You just need to know what to look for.
