While on patrols today in town, we came across the "End Of Summer" event at the Boston Centenary Methodist Church on Red Lion Street, Boston. It was great to meet little ones, some only wanting a sticker and some wanting to join police when they are older. Hope you all had a great time with face painting or on the bouncy castles. lovely meeting you all.

We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Frithville. Can you help?

APPEAL: Serious collision - Westville Road, Frithville.

Emergency services were called this morning to Westville Road, Frithville to a report that a car was seen to enter the water way which runs alongside the road.

We were called just after 9.45am on Thursday 20th August 2026 to reports that a red Volkswagen ID4 had left the road and entered the West Fen Drain. The car was being driven towards Coningsby.

The vehicle was recovered from the water but sadly the driver and only occupant of the car, a local man aged 41, died at the scene. His family have been informed.

We are appealing for anyone who was travelling in the area prior to the incident and may have seen or captured the vehicle on their dashcam or other recorded footage before the collision to get in touch.

Beware cold calls from fraudsters claiming to be from your bank or from the police. Please share.

“This is DCI Barnett of the Met police Cyber Crime Unit. My badge number is 0921773 and the crime reference number I am calling about is CRN-07238.”

If you received this call out of the blue, what would you think? It’s a call that a resident from the Boston area received yesterday, and thankfully spotted it as a fraud attempt. But we know that the people who make these calls are very convincing, and use various tactics to bamboozle victims into doing what they ask. In this case there was an elaborate story about a fraud investigation and “DCI Barnett” said that there would be a follow up call from the Financial Services Authority.

ℹ️ Police and banks or other officials will NEVER call and ask you to transfer money, or send a courier to your home to collect bank cards, cash or other valuables.

⚠️ Criminals stole over £21 million from courier fraud victims in 2025 - in Lincolnshire, losses totaled £165,000.

A man has been jailed following a spate of Boston burglary and theft incidents in March and April this year.

A man has been jailed for 18 months following an investigation into multiple burglary and theft incidents which were reported in Boston between March and April 2026.

Bradley Smith, 21, of no fixed address, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on 13 August, charged with:

➡️ Burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal
➡️ Burglary dwelling - with intent to steal x 2 counts
➡️ Burglary other than dwelling – theft x 4* counts
➡️ Theft from a shop x 2 counts
➡️ Possess a controlled drug of Class B - Cannabis / Cannabis Resin

Smith pleaded guilty to all 10 charges laid against him.

The court heard how he had entered as a trespasser with intent to steal from a premises on Fydell Crescent (twice) and The New England Hotel, Wide Bargate.

He also admitted entering as a trespasser:

- Pilgrims Local, Market Place, where he stole cash, vapes, cigarette to the value of £4,150.
- Bulgarian Foods, Market Place, where he stole cash to the value of £95.
- Security and Surveillance, Horncastle Road, where he stole two doorbells and a chimer to the value of £340.
- Shepherds Bakery, Wide Bargate, where he stole cash of an unknown value.

Smith also pleaded guilty to stealing bottles of Jack Daniels Whiskey to the value of £180 from Morrissons Local / Daily, Wide Bargate, and a handbag and three purses of unknown value from TKMAXX, Horncastle Road.

🗣️ Of the outcome, Inspector Ian Cotton of Boston Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This offender showed a clear pattern of persistent criminal behaviour, but through close partnership working and the support of members of the public who provided key information, our CID colleagues were able to put him before the courts to hold him accountable.

"We recognise the impact these incidents had on the local community. The public's willingness to report information through the correct channels was instrumental in enabling us to focus our resources effectively, ensuring the community received the right support when they needed it most. I thank everyone who assisted in this investigation."

We’re appealing for information and any witnesses following reports of an assault in West Street, Boston on Sunday 2 August 2026.

Officers were called to West Street shortly before 8.40am on Sunday morning. We believe the disturbance may have started in the Stanley Hotel and then spilled out onto West Street.

As part of our investigation, we are asking for information and for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have relevant information, to come forward and assist with our investigation. We would like to speak to anyone who was on West Street at the time or in The Stanley Hotel and heard or saw anything they believe may be connected.

One man, aged 38, has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail while our inquiries continue.

Officers are appealing for information.

Officers were called to a property at Revesby Avenue, Boston, at 9.17pm on Wednesday 29 July, following a concern for safety.

Two men, aged 40 and 59, and two women aged 33 and 37*, have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, following reports that bloodstained clothing was found in the vicinity of the property.

There is an increased police presence in the area while officers carry out inquiries to establish the precise circumstances in which the clothing came to be found there.

We are at the very early stages of this investigation, and we ask members of the public to please avoid speculation on social media and to rely on verified updates.

We have had a few incidents reported to us over the last couple of days regarding thefts from motor vehicles that have been left unlocked overnight in the Wyberton area of Boston.
Please ensure you lock your vehicle and remove any valuables when the vehicle is left unattended.
If you see anybody acting suspiciously around vehicles please report this via 101 or in an emergency 999 .

"Beyond Perception" is a youth project running locally in Boston in partnership with other local youth engagement agencies including Positive Futures. They are holding a free "Social Action Event" for youths to take part in or just watch and enjoy where various activities will take place.
