🎬 Lights, camera, action!

Did you know scenes from the new BBC drama Dear England were filmed right here in Hertsmere?

The four-part series, which premiered on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this week, tells the story of how Gareth Southgate reshaped the England football team. Starring Joseph Fiennes as Southgate and Jodie Whittaker as psychologist Pippa Grange, the drama is based on the award-winning stage play of the same name.

With excitement already building ahead of the FIFA World Cup next year, it’s a timely reminder of the borough’s role in bringing major productions to life. Filming took place in Borehamwood and Elstree last year, with support from the Filming in Hertsmere Office.

Film and television productions not only showcase Hertsmere on screen but also support local businesses, create jobs and generate significant benefits for the local economy.

âš˝ Watch Dear England now on BBC iPlayer.

Hertsmere - Your production perfectly placed.

Whether you’re planning a feature film, TV series or commercial shoot, the Filming in Hertsmere Office and Hertfordshire Film Office are here to help.

Join us for the next Hertsmere Works Networking Breakfast tomorrow!

Hertsmere Works, in conjunction with Hertsmere Borough Council, is inviting local businesses to join us on Wednesday 10 June 2026, from 8am to 10am, at the Village Hotel, Centennial Park, Borehamwood.

We are delighted to welcome Adam Carr and Lyndsay Wood from Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust (EHAAT).

Adam Carr, Critical Care Paramedic and Clinical Community Lead at EHAAT, will share insights into the charity’s life-saving work and its free CPR Smart training programme, which helps schools, businesses and community groups build vital CPR skills.

Lyndsay Wood, Corporate Partnerships Manager, will outline how local businesses can support EHAAT through partnerships, sponsorship and volunteering, while also benefiting from networking, PR and social value opportunities.

This is a great opportunity to meet like-minded businesses, make new connections and build valuable working relationships over breakfast.

The first 10 businesses to book will receive a 60-second slot to introduce themselves and their business to the group.

Places are limited, so early booking is strongly recommended.
Cost: ÂŁ12.50 + VAT (includes breakfast)
Book your place here:
