🎺 Great news for new applicants who want to join an Army Reserve Band and get paid to play music! 🎺

For Reserve Musicians, basic training has now ceased.

The application process is:

* An online application, including a medical questionnaire sent to your GP.

* Assessment centre consisting of a medical and basic fitness test.

*A music audition at the band location.

* Online training.

Once accepted, you will be paid to play in band rehearsals and gigs, plus you'll receive paid leave and an allowance for travel from where you live to Bolton.

If you attend the minimum requirement of 27 days musical training and complete the basic on-line military education/knowledge required, you will also receive an annual tax free bonus, that rises incrementally over the first five years of service, to over £2,200.

If you are interested in joining the Lancashire Artillery Band in Bolton, we rehearse on a Thursday evening from 7.45pm - 9.45pm 🎶

The instruments that we especially require are oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, tenor trombone and percussion but all other instruments would also be welcome too 🎷

Congratulations to everyone who received A Level, BTEC and T Level results, we hope the next chapter is an exciting one!

If you're heading to university or college across Lancashire, or studying within travelling distance of the Band in Bolton, starting university doesn't have to mean leaving your music behind. 🎶

Whether you're studying music or something completely different, if you've enjoyed playing through school or college, why stop now?

The Lancashire artillery band offers the opportunity to continue making music alongside your studies as a paid, part-time musician in the Army Reserve.

Tee off for a great cause ⛳

This August, 103rd (Lancashire Artillery Volunteers) Regiment Royal Artillery is proud to host a Charity Golf Day in support of Autism Together.

Whether you're military, a seasoned golfer or simply enjoy a day on the course, we'd love you to join us.

What is an Army Reservist — and what does it mean to serve in the Army Reserve? 💂‍♂️

Army Reservists are part-time soldiers in the British Army Reserve, trained to the same high standards as their Regular Army counterparts — but with one big difference: they also live civilian lives.

Whether they’re teachers, paramedics, tradespeople, students or office workers, Reservists give up their spare time to train, serve and stand ready to support the British Army at home and overseas.

🪖 What does an Army Reservist do?
* Attends regular training (typically evenings & weekends) and completes an annual training camp
* May deploy on musical tours (UK & abroad) and support UK resilience and emergency response efforts

📌 Fast facts:
* Over 15,000 personnel currently serve in the Army Reserve
* Many Reservists bring specialist civilian skills to the military (music, engineering, medical, cyber, logistics)
* Reservists receive pay, pension contributions and travel support

💬 They are volunteers, professionals and soldiers.
