Bodmin Community Fire Station is a day crewed wholetime fire station serving the Bodmin community and backing up other areas in the county if required. There are two watches (Green and Orange) working 7am-7pm seven days a week, backed up by an on-call crew during the day and covering the area at night time. Bodmin has two main pumping appliances, 2 rescue tenders, 1 for Road Traffic Collisions and 1 with Animal / Line rescue equipment. We also have an Incident Response Unit.

Royal Cornwall Show – Saturday Closure

It is with great regret that following a thorough assessment of forecast weather conditions and their impact on the showground, the difficult decision has been taken to cancel the final day of the Royal Cornwall Show on Saturday.

The safety and wellbeing of our visitors, exhibitors, competitors, members, staff, volunteers and contractors has been central to this decision and remains our highest priority.

We recognise how disappointing this news will be for everyone involved, particularly those who had planned to attend, exhibit or compete, and we would like to thank all our stakeholders for their patience, understanding and support.

Further information for ticket holders, exhibitors, competitors, members and other stakeholders will be communicated as soon as possible through the Royal Cornwall Show’s official channels.

🚒 Last week we were delighted to welcome Horizon club to the fire station for a fun filled visit! The group watched our on call crew carry out an RTC drill and got a close-up look at how we respond at emergencies.
The highlight of the evening was when they got the chance to use the hose reel jets and even managed to give a couple of firefighters an unexpected soaking! Thank you for your visit and thank you for the donation to the Firefighters charity. Everyone had a fantastic time,especially the crew! We look forward to seeing you soon. 🚒

Yesterday, Green watch had the pleasure of welcoming Blue Watch Fire Control for the day at Bodmin💚💙

This allowed us to show our control colleagues round the fire engines, show them pieces of equipment that they might not have seen and have discussions about the differences between the incident ground and the control room during incidents.

Green watch even trialled the services’ new call handling training packages and experienced what it would be like if they were receiving a 999 call🚨

For the past couple of weeks, FF Baker (Green Watch) and FF Di**le (Orange Watch) have been away in Lincolnshire completing a Heavy Rescue CPD course 🚒

By completing this course, it now means both firefighters are competent instructors and will in time be delivering training packages across the service to up skill all of our frontline staff 🔥

A variety of different scenarios involving all kinds of heavy rescue vehicles were completed, using techniques and knowledge delivered by Gareth Lloyd Technical Rescue.

Thank you to all services involved and to Burrows Recovery for an excellent course.
