It was a real pleasure to welcome Thavam and Ruben to Queensway today and to celebrate the opening of their new Morrisons Daily store.

They have invested in Bletchley and created a fantastic new addition to Queensway. The store has all the bits you might need on a daily basis, a bakery and hot food to go, with the reassurance of supermarket prices too.

It was also a delight to see the Town Deal works taking shape right outside the shop. The improvements are helping to create a lighter, brighter main shopping street, with new planting and posts to prevent parking on pavements. Hopefully, all of this work will help bring more people into Bletchley and support our town centre.

I just know Thavam and Ruben are going to be very busy, and it is wonderful to see another business choosing to invest in our town.

It was lovely to welcome them alongside the Deputy Mayor and Councillor Hume, MK City Council Cabinet Member for the Bletchley Town Deal.

Please do pop in, say hello, and support this brilliant new local business.

I’m incredibly honoured to have been re-elected unopposed by my fellow Town Councillors as Mayor of Bletchley and Fenny Stratford and Chair of the Town Council for a sixth term, having now completed five years in the role. Councillor Richard Graham has been elected Deputy Mayor.

I would like to sincerely thank all of my councillor colleagues for once again putting their trust and confidence in me. It is a privilege to serve our communities and to work alongside such dedicated people who care deeply about our towns and neighbourhoods.

Over the last five years we have achieved so much together for our community. From supporting local organisations and investing in our public spaces, to progressing major regeneration and community projects, I am proud of what we have delivered collectively for residents across Bletchley, Fenny Stratford, Water Eaton, Denbigh, Granby, Eaton Leys and Newton Leys.

There is still much more to do, but I remain as committed as ever to working constructively, building partnerships and doing everything I can to make our towns the very best they can be.

Thank you for your continued support

As Mayor of Bletchley and Fenny Stratford, and as an LGBTQ+ Christian who regularly attends church, I am deeply saddened to hear of two separate fire incidents in our community this past week.

One at St Martin's Church Fenny Stratford and the other at Pink Punters, both places that are far more than just buildings. They are beacons of hope, belonging, and community for so many.

To see two such important spaces affected in such a short time is deeply concerning.

I understand that St Martin's Church Fenny Stratford was thankfully able to reopen for Sunday service, which is a testament to the resilience and dedication of its congregation.

I also understand from Frank’s update that Pink Punters has been completely destroyed, but there is a clear determination that it will return. That resilience speaks volumes about the strength of our community.

I am aware that a person has been arrested in connection with the fire at Pink Punters. If you saw anything or have any information, please do contact the police to assist with their investigation.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected including those who may now be facing uncertainty about their livelihoods, as well as all who find comfort, faith, friendship and identity in these spaces.

Bletchley and Fenny Stratford is a community that stands together. We will support one another, and we will rebuild.

Pink Punters nightclub has been devastated by a fire which happened during the early hours of this morning (Sunday).

Just to reassure everyone.... I’m absolutely fine! I have lost a lot of weight but it is all good!

My husband Stuart and I have been focusing on our health recently and decided to try the Keto diet, which is a low/no carbohydrate approach. It’s been a real lifestyle change for us, but one that’s working well.... I’ve now lost 2.5 stone. That's nearly 16kg!

Like many people in our community and particularly those of afro-carribean descent, I’m living with Type 2 diabetes, so this has been about taking control, improving my health, and making more sustainable choices day to day. It’s not always easy, but it’s definitely been worth it so far.

Really grateful for the kind messages and concern, it’s genuinely appreciated. Just a case of eating better, feeling better, and keeping it going!

Brilliant to be at Stadium MK in Bletchley today with my son and friends to watch Milton Keynes Dons deliver a fantastic 3–0 win over Tranmere Rovers and secure promotion to EFL League One.

We believed..... and they delivered! My son is one happy boy! I'm so proud to be Bletchley's Mayor today!

An incredible performance, a brilliant atmosphere, and a moment to remember. Seeing fans on the pitch at full time celebrating with the players was something really special.... Football at its very best.

Huge congratulations to everyone at the Dons. Well deserved.

We are going up… Olé Olé!

Newton Leys Pavilion Balancing Pond

I’ve had a number of residents get in touch about the water levels in the balancing pond dropping significantly, particularly with concerns about wildlife including the swans.

I’ve now received a response from Taylor Wimpey South Midlands, and wanted to share an update.

As part of works for the final phase of the Newton Leys development off Galapagos Grove, it was found that outflows serving the pond had become blocked over time. This meant water levels had risen higher than the pond was originally designed for.

The works you’re seeing have involved clearing the blockage, allowing the water to drain properly again and bringing the pond back to its intended level.

Importantly, if water levels had stayed higher than designed, the pond wouldn’t have been able to function properly during heavy rainfall, which could have increased the risk of localised flooding.

Taylor Wimpey have confirmed that the pond is not being removed. It will remain a drainage and ecological feature.
Water levels should stabilise again naturally with rainfall.

I completely understand why this has caused concern, especially given how important this space is to residents and local wildlife. I’ll continue to keep an eye on the situation and raise any further concerns if needed.

If you notice anything worrying, particularly regarding wildlife, please do continue to share.
