The law on fire alarms is changing and time is running out to make sure your property is fully compliant.

By February 2022, all homes in Scotland will be required to have interlinked fire alarms, this means when one alarm activates, they all do.

The new legislation requires you to have:
- one smoke alarm installed in most used room (lounge/TV room)

- one smoke alarm in every circulation space on each floor (hallways and landings)

- one heat alarm installed in kitchen

AND all alarms should be ceiling mounted and interlinked

- a stand-alone carbon monoxide detector is also required in any area/room there is a carbon-fuelled appliance, such as a boiler, fire (including open fires) and heater, a carbon monoxide detector is also require.

Did you know.......

As of Feb 2022 ALL Scottish homes MUST be fitted with interlinked fire/smoke alarms in ALL high traffic areas, ie: lounge/sitting rooms, hallways/landings & kitchens.

It will also be compulsory for CO² detectors to be installed also where there is a boiler, fire or flue present.

Don't leave it until its too late, check with your insurance provider the level of cover they require and make arrangements now.
