The Supply Chain Operative Initial Trade Training (ITT) is a five-week course delivered at 11 Signal Regiment, Royal School of Signals, in Blandford Forum. During the course, trainees are introduced to the fundamentals of the trade, including Health and Safety practices, an overview of the G4 logistics supply chain, and manual accounting procedures using service forms and publications—particularly in scenarios involving the loss of IT equipment. They also receive instruction in the Tri-Service logistics accounting system and complete the course with training in JAMES (Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solutions) for asset tracking and management.
Upon successful completion of ITT, trainees progress to driver training. They first obtain a Category B (car) driving licence, followed by training for Category C (rigid lorry) and then Category C+E (articulated lorry) licences, enabling them to operate a full range of military logistics vehicles.
