๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ Meet Your Local Team ๐Ÿ‘‹

Iโ€™m PCSO Su Leatt (5382). Iโ€™ve been a PCSO for nearly 19 years. Over that time, Iโ€™ve really enjoyed getting to know the community and being a familiar face that people can rely on.

I joined policing to help the community.๐Ÿ’™ I particularly enjoy getting out on patrol and speaking with residents, those conversations are so important in understanding what matters most to you. Before joining Dorset Police, I worked as a hairdresser and youth worker, and Iโ€™ve always been part of the Neighbourhood Policing Team throughout my policing career.

This area is a lovely place to work. People are friendly, welcoming, and itโ€™s a real pleasure to be part of the community. There isnโ€™t one specific issue I prefer helping with, Iโ€™m here to support in any way I can, whether thatโ€™s offering advice, providing information, or helping point you in the right direction.

When you see me out on patrol, I want you to feel safe, reassured, and confident that Iโ€™m approachable and visible ๐Ÿ˜Š If you ever feel nervous about speaking to a PCSO, please donโ€™t be, weโ€™re here to help, weโ€™re friendly, and we genuinely care ๐Ÿ‘

The best way to speak to me is to stop me when Iโ€™m out on patrol or come along to one of our community contact points, Iโ€™m always happy to chat.

A little about me outside of work:

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ I enjoy spending time with my family

๐Ÿ• I love walking the dog

๐ŸŒฑ Iโ€™m a keen gardener

โ˜• And itโ€™s definitely coffee for me!

- WEEKLY UPDATE

โœ… Assisted Road Policing officers in locating and arresting a male who failed to stop for police. After making off on foot, he was eventually found hiding in an airing cupboard... a creative choice, but not a successful one! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿšช

โœ… Patrolled ASB hotspots in Marnhull with no issues to report.

โœ… Conducted proactive vehicle stops, resulting in valuable intelligence being gathered.

โœ… Recovered a stolen E-bike ๐Ÿšฒ, located the suspect responsible, and issued a Community Resolution. Best of all, the bike was returned to a very grateful owner. ๐Ÿ‘

โœ… Assisted with Closure Order checks, resulting in one person being removed from the property.

โœ… Completed lengthy and detailed evidential documents for a housing closure order, working with partner agencies and force legal ๐Ÿ  โš–๏ธ

โœ… Completed a hospital bed watch with a prisoner at DCH, ensuring appropriate supervision and maintaining patient and staff safety throughout. ๐Ÿฅโœ…

โœ… Completed Response & Pursuit driving requalification training to ensure we continue to respond safely and effectively to incidents across Dorset.

๐Ÿ“ Our next Community Contact Point is on Friday 11 September at 1300hrs at The Exchange, Sturminster Newton. Come along, say hello and discuss any local concerns with your neighbourhood team. โ˜•๐Ÿ‘ฎ

This week Gillingham Neighbourhood Team (NPT) have been out and about in our more rural areas around Gillingham, we have been conducting speed checks ๐Ÿ“ธ after reports of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and Driving in these areas. We were happy to confirm on at the times we were around there was no speeding, and no driving that could be considered as anti-social. ๐Ÿš—
๐Ÿ’จ

Along with speed checks, we have been doing patrols later into the evening after we have had several reports of suspicious circumstances, some of which leading to burglaries over the last few weeks. We are working with our colleagues in neighbouring forces (Avon & Somerset and Wiltshire) to tackle incidents where we believe offenders have travelled across the areas to commit crimes. ๐Ÿš“

Whilst PCs Ash and Brad were on patrol, they had a report of a missing 3 year old, who after swiftly looking with family, was reunited with their parents which is amazing news, and no harm was caused. ๐Ÿ‘ช

We are going to continue our patrols to tackle ASB in and around Gillingham and our more rural areas, using tools that we have in our back pockets. One of those is a Closure Notice which is a civil order put into place by the court following ASB taking place at a particular address. Following the one that was granted a few months ago, PC Ash worked with the housing provider, and they managed to get repossession of the property granted ๐Ÿšซ , and the tenants will soon be removed from the property with the property being offered back out to someone else. This is a great win for us in Gillingham, and one we will be repeating at other addresses who show similar behaviours.

We will be continuing these patrols in these areas over the coming weeks.

Around 3.20pm on Saturday 29 August 2026, a garage at a residential address in the area of South Street in Kington Magna was broken into.

NORTH DORSET NPT

๐Ÿš”โ˜€๏ธ Today, officers from the Sturminster Newton and Shaftesbury Neighbourhood Policing Teams attended the Blandford Summer Fayre. ๐ŸŽช

โœ… Despite a few brief showers, the weather was on our side for most of the day, and it was great to speak with so many members of the public.

โœ… We had lots of positive conversations, answered questions, listened to concerns, and of course stopped for a few obligatory photos! ๐Ÿ“ธ

๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿš“ While patrolling the town, we encountered several riders on suspected illegal e-bikes. These individuals clearly made efforts to avoid police on more than one occasion and had no intention of stopping for us.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Interestingly, both before and after this incident, several members of the public approached us independently to raise concerns about illegal e-bike use in the area.

โœ… We hear you.
โœ… We know about the issue.
โœ… We are actively targeting those responsible.

๐Ÿ‘€ The riders know we're looking for them... and we're not going away.

๐Ÿ’š You can ride, but you can't hide. ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ“ข If you have information about illegal e-bikes or those using them, please report it:

๐Ÿ“ž Via 101
๐Ÿšจ Via 999 if a crime is in progress or there is an immediate risk to life
๐ŸŒ Through the Dorset Police website
๐Ÿ”’ Anonymously via Crimestoppers

โœ… Every report helps build the intelligence picture and supports enforcement action.

๐Ÿค Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat with us today. Your support and information are invaluable in helping us keep our communities safe.

๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ Meet Your Local Team ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm Sergeant Paul Craig (2494), and I've recently joined the local Neighbourhood Policing Team. While I've only been in this role for a few weeks, I've been a police officer for 20 years and am excited to be back on NPT.

Growing up in an area affected by high levels of crime and deprivation, I saw first-hand the impact that crime and ASB can have on individuals, families, and entire communities. Those experiences inspired me to join the police!
Neighbourhood policing has always been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. I previously worked in neighbourhood policing between 2009-12 before moving into a variety of other roles across the organisation. Throughout my policing career, I've always valued the opportunity to work closely with local people, build relationships, and tackle the issues that matter most to our communities. That's why I was delighted to return to neighbourhood policing and join the team.

Before joining Dorset Police, I worked in several roles, including developing software for a large financial services company. Since joining policing, I've gained experience across a wide range of departments, including:

โœ… Patrol
โœ… CID
โœ… Tutor Unit
โœ… Bespoke Operational Roles
โœ… Governance

When you see me or members of the team out on patrol, I want you to feel reassured that we're here and approachable. If you've ever felt nervous about speaking to a police officer, please don't be. We really are here to help. We are all approachable and would love to speak with you.

When I'm off duty, I enjoy spending time with family and friends ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ, and when it comes to the important question... you'll find me happy with either tea or coffee! โ˜•๐Ÿต

I look forward to meeting many more of you in the weeks and months ahead. ๐Ÿ‘‹
