TRAILWALKER 2026!

What a weekend! Trailwalker 2026 brought together more than 1300 military and civilian participants who race in teams of four for the ultimate test of endurance - 100km across the stunning South Downs.

A massive congratulations to The Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment, who took the win and set a new record, finishing in an incredible 9 hours 12 minutes.

Huge credit also goes to The Queen’s Gurkha Signals and The Gurkha Welfare Trust, whose hard work behind the scenes helped make the whole event happen whilst raising awareness and generating vital funds for the charity.

But Trailwalker is about so much more than the finish line. It’s the teamwork, the early starts, the tired legs, the laughs, the support and the determination to keep going when it gets tough.
A huge well done to everyone who took part, volunteered, supported and cheered from the sidelines.

Our Corps Colonel, Col Edward Swift has agreed to do something most of us would avoid and have avoided, jumping out of a perfectly good aeroplane at the end of the month Fri 25th Sept 26 in support of the brilliant Royal Signals Charity. Our very own Royal Signals Parachuting Team will be on hand to look after him throughout, it's set to be a fantastic day and no doubt, an unforgettable experience.

The Charity provides vital support to serving personnel, veterans and families across the Corps, so if you can spare a few pounds to sponsor him, it would be greatly appreciated.

280 (NATO) Signal Squadron

Have you heard of them?

They’re a small, independent Squadron with an unusual role within the Corps. They’re the only British Army unit permanently assigned to NATO, working alongside colleagues from across the Alliance.

The soldiers are technically at the top of their game, adaptable, and have the opportunity to work daily in a multinational environment, both at home and on operations.

What you can expect:

At the weekend, hundreds of serving and retired Royal Signals personnel, families and friends gathered at the National Memorial Arboretum for the Royal Signals Annual Memorial Service.

It was a special opportunity to come together and remember those who have served our Corps and are no longer with us, and to reflect on their lives and contribution. We will always remember their service and sacrifice.

Our soldiers regularly deploy on exercises around the world, working alongside international partners to develop new capabilities and explore emerging technologies. This summer, 1 Signal Regiment deployed to California to exercise alongside the US, Australian, Canadian and New Zealand Armed Forces. Working together with our allies, they supported the development and testing of emerging technologies, helping to shape how we operate in the future.

So, what is CBRN?

CBRN stands for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear. The British Army trains soldiers to recognise and deal with CBRN threats, helping them protect themselves and others and stay operational in challenging situations.

As a member of the Royal Signals, you are both a soldier and a technical specialist. Whether you specialise in Cyber or Network Engineering, you still complete core soldiering, fieldcraft and CBRN training to stay ready for operations.
