💸 Labour handed Scotland a measly £4.6m sliver of a £53 million support package to help people struggling with the dramatic rise in heating oil costs. This equates to just £35 per household.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝘆 𝗕𝗼𝘅: 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀

Would you believe 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟵 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟬 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 in Scotland register for a Baby Box each year?

That’s one of the highest participation rates of any universal family support programme in the UK.

The statistics speak for themselves:

✅ 𝗧𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝘅𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱: over 350,000 Baby Boxes have been delivered since the programme launched in 2017.

✅ 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: more than 39,000 boxes were delivered across Scotland in 2025 alone.

✅ 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱: around 89% of expectant parents in Scotland register for their Baby Box.

✅ 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲: each box contains around £400 worth of essential items, helping families prepare for their baby’s first six months.

𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗧𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝘆 𝗕𝗼𝘅 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀:

‼️ 𝗧𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝘅𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱: more than 21,000 Baby Boxes have been delivered to families across NHS Tayside since the scheme began.

‼️ 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: around 3,000 families in Tayside benefit from the Baby Box each year.

‼️ 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲: that represents roughly £8 million in direct support to Tayside families.

As of March 2026, the Scottish Government is reviewing and enhancing the contents of the Baby Box to ensure it continues to meet the needs of modern families.

The SNP Government isn’t just delivering the Baby Box, it continues to review and improve it to give Scotland’s children the best possible start in life.

If this is what the Scottish government can do while shackled to Westminster, just imagine what they could achieve as an independent nation!

𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱’𝘀 𝗡𝗛𝗦: 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀

Our NHS is more than just a service—it’s a reflection of our values. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💙

The SNP Government has officially passed the 2026/27 Budget, delivering around £𝟮𝟮.𝟱 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 for health and social care. This is the highest investment in the history of our health service, and it's being put to work right now:

🚀 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: around £17.6 billion is going directly to our NHS Boards to drive down waiting lists and clear backlogs.

🩺 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟴 𝗮𝗺 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝗵: We're investing around £36 million to expand new community access hubs and improve GP access.

🏠 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲: We’re expanding 'Hospital at Home' to 2,000 beds, letting more people get acute care where they are most comfortable.

🤝 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳: Continuing fair pay commitments, including £𝟭𝟯.𝟰𝟱/𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗺 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 for adult social care workers.

While others choose austerity, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝑵𝑷 𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕. We believe that healthcare should always be free at the point of use and that your care should be determined by your clinical need, never your ability to pay.
