Atholl Estates and Blair Castle

Atholl Estates and Blair Castle Atholl Estates is one of Scotland’s best known Highland estates, with Blair Castle at its heart.

Located within the Cairngorms National Park in Highland Perthshire, Atholl Estates offers a wide range of activities for visitors wishing to explore the beauty and history of rural Scotland. Blair Castle, the ancestral home to the Dukes of Atholl, lies at its heart. As well as Blair Castle tours and tranquil walks around the Gardens, walkers and cyclists have a wealth of waymarked trails to explore. Our Ranger Service also holds events throughout the year, where you can learn about the estate's wildlife. We also have a range of accommodation on the estate including our popular caravan park, historic self-catering highland lodges and shepherds' huts, which all make the perfect base for your Scottish adventures.

Just seven weeks left to visit Blair Castle & Gardens this year.

There is something rather special about autumn here in Highland Perthshire. As the days grow shorter the countryside takes on its rich autumn colours, making this a beautiful time to explore.

With our new Sunday Roasts proving a popular addition, there is even more reason to make a day of your visit – enjoy a tour of the castle followed by a hearty lunch and a walk through the autumn landscape, with time for coffee and cake afterwards.

We look forward to welcoming you to Blair Castle this autumn. We are open daily until 30th October 2026. https://atholl-estates.co.uk/

This September, the hills and woodland of Atholl Estates will provide the setting for a special fundraising day.

On Sunday 27 September Tayside Mountain Rescue Team will celebrate 50 years of supporting people across the hills and rural communities of Tayside. Join two fundraising walks starting from Blair Castle:

🥾 The Half Hamish | A 7-mile circular route through the beautiful woodland of lower Glen Tilt. A shorter route, well suited to families and those looking for a gentler day in the hills.

🥾 The Full Hamish | A longer 14-mile circular route taking in the moors above Glen Banvie. A rewarding challenge for those looking to spend a little longer out on the hills.

Our Forestry Manager, Malcolm, is a volunteer with Tayside Mountain Rescue, so we have a particular appreciation for the time, commitment and dedication their volunteers give to helping people in the outdoors.

We are very pleased to support Tayside Mountain Rescue as they mark this important milestone, and to celebrate the lifesaving work they have carried out across Scotland for the past 50 years.

With entry from £25 and no minimum sponsorship required, there’s an opportunity for everyone to take part. Join us at Blair Castle and help support Tayside Mountain Rescue for the next 50 years.

Calling all period drama fans 🎬

With Bridgerton having been nominated for an NTA, there’s never been a better time to step into the world of costume drama at Blair Castle.

Our current exhibition brings together costumes from much-loved productions alongside garments worn by members of the Murray family throughout the centuries.

Discover how the fashions of those who really lived at Blair Castle compare with costumes from Downton Abbey, Emma, Victoria, The Duchess and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, revealing fascinating links between historical dress and the period dramas we love today.

The exhibition, included with a castle ticket, runs through to 30th October 2026.
