Ignite - Empowering communities to flourish
Ignite is a grass roots community organisation established to build individual and collective capacity for well-being, compassion, community cohesion and psychosocial growth. We work directly with communities to educate and empower people to take the lead in making the decisions that matter to them, and work toward a true state of well-being. Well-being is more than just having good mental and physical health. It is about living life to the fullness of your ability, it is about caring and compassionate community, it is about giving and gratitude and understanding that we all share this planet. It is about our right as human beings to flourish on our own terms, as individuals and collectively as communities and society. Positive community development praxis is at the heart of our approach. The community is not broken, it has merely been denied the tools needed for true emancipation. Our aim is to support communities to develop the tools necessary for meaningful sustainability, resilience and well-being.
