It's volunteer week.

We are blessed in Marton to have an amazing community and I just want to say a massive thank you from me to all of you.

I'm off to tend some flower beds in the park shortly, it's something I've started doing a couple of mornings a week and it's really rewarding to play just a small part in keeping the memorial gardens looking good, chatting to park guests and connecting with the outdoors.

If you've ever considered whether you have time to give back to the community and have a couple of hours to spare, why not get involved with some of our wonderful opportunities. Many of the clubs and activities can only run with volunteers and just by turning up, helping out and interacting you could be the difference to someone's day.

If any residents haven't been to visit this, it's well worth popping in for a look before the Monet exhibit ends. The Grundy is an absolute jewel in the town centre and it's free in.

We're really lucky in Marton to have already had several key roads resurfaced and major improvements since 2023, including around the school.
I'll continue reporting potholes in on a regular basis. These are some of the next streets to be done in Blackpool as we continue to build a better Blackpool with better and safer roads for everyone. 🌹🧡🚸

Thanks to Enveco Blackpool and the team in Marton today for our extra waste amnesty.

The cage truck was filled twice over today.

That's a significant amount of waste that isn't cramping up houses, filling back alleyways or being fly-tipped.

Please keep an eye out on this page later in the year for details of a full ward amnesty in December (just in time for your Christmas clear-outs).
