🎨 Boysie Mural - Brunswick Community Garden.

This one has been in the works a while - a project coordinated by the ‘Stakeholders of Brunswick’ in partnership with the Blackpool Boys and Girls Club Talbot&Brunswick, Blackpool Council Youth Partnership & the former Parks Community Engagement lead.

We enlisted local artist David Healy to apply the design which has been co-produced with the children at the Boys & Girls Club, inspired by them, the place they live and what they love about their neighbourhood! 🧡

We think it looks ACE and brings a pop of colour to the community garden, alongside the flowers 🌺 that have been planted by the community.

🎉 Exciting news for Brunswick - just in time for the World Cup! ⚽️

The Blackpool Boys and Girls Club Talbot&Brunswick & Blackpool Council are pleased to share that the brand new TAB Sport Area on Victory Road is nearly complete and we’re so excited to open it up for everyone to enjoy!

✅ The area will include pitches for football, basketball, tennis (free standing net will be stored in the club) and cricket, offering something for all ages and interests.

⏰ The space will be available to book by the hour, with a simple online booking system that we’ll share once it’s live.

⚽ We’ll also be running a variety of FREE sports sessions and we’d love your input to shape what’s on offer!

👉 Please take a moment to complete the below survey and let the Boysie know what sessions you’d like to see. Your feedback really matters to us!

💡 Any money raised through bookings will be non-profit and kept in a separate, ring-fenced account, used solely for the upkeep and maintenance of the Sports Area.

🙌 The Sport Area will also be free for members to use whenever the Boysie is open, making it a great space for the whole community to stay active.

The Boys and Girls Club can’t wait to welcome you all very soon, more updates coming shortly!

🌺 Brunswick Hanging Baskets!

We have been busy delivering the hanging baskets to residents who have asked to participate in the campaign. 📮

The baskets will be judged by ‘Blackpool in Bloom’ on 2nd July and the awards will take place on 30th July.

We have some baskets left for any last minute contestants - get in touch ASAP and we will drop one off!

Cllr Marshall said:

“We have contacted the Enforcement Department within Blackpool Council to request a camera to get a true picture of what is happening in this alleyway.

We have offered to pay for the camera from our ward budget, in order for us to take formal action on those responsible.

We will be looking to take formal action against those who repeatedly fly-tip as it is a crime and hope to be able to continue to work in partnership with the Brunswick PACT Chairman, the Police and the council enforcement team to address recurring fly-tip as a crime.”
