This week we have been celebrating and we would like to say a huge THANK YOU to our incredible volunteers💙. Across our Trust, around 150 volunteers support our patients, visitors and colleagues in a wide range of roles – helping to create a welcoming and compassionate environment across our services.
From offering a friendly face to helping people find their way, their contribution makes a real difference every day. Over the past year alone, they’ve given more than 14,000 hours of their time.

Thank you to all of our volunteers for everything you do 👏.

We have welcomed the first patient onto our new virtual ward as part of our Intensive Home Support Service, helping people receive hospital-level care in the comfort of their own home 🏡💙.
Our teams were able to support Maureen at home with IV antibiotics, avoiding a hospital admission and helping her recover more quickly in familiar surroundings. The service is designed to keep patients safe whilst also being independent and closer to home while reducing unnecessary stays in hospital.
This milestone highlights the incredible work of our community teams who continue to deliver compassionate, patient-centred care every day 👏.

This week we are celebrating and we would like to say a huge THANK YOU to our incredible volunteersđź’™. From helping patients feel less anxious when arriving at hospital, to offering a friendly face and guiding people to where they need to be, our volunteers make a real difference every day.
Some of our volunteers shared what the enjoy most about their role: Barry shared how he enjoys “making a difference to people who are usually anxious coming into a hospital setting,” while Pauline spoke about how “rewarding” it is to meet people and help them to their appointments.
For Habiba, it’s those small moments that matter most – “being able to make even a small difference to someone’s day” is what makes volunteering so meaningful.
Thank you to all of our volunteers for everything you do 👏.

We are celebrating after our Neuro Rehabilitation Online Service (NROL) was named a Regional Champion in the NHS Excellence Awards 🎉💙.
Our innovative service supports people recovering from stroke and neurological conditions through online, group-based rehabilitation, helping patients stay connected and access care in a way that works for them. Working in partnership across Lancashire and South Cumbria, the programme has already supported hundreds of patients and delivered thousands of hours of rehabilitation.
This award recognises the strength of patient involvement in shaping the service and the commitment of our teams to improving care for our communities.
