This month, the Inclusive North team has continued championing Black and Racially Minoritised (BRM) communities through action, collaboration, and systems change work across the North West.
Our team delivered a series of listening and engagement events, gathering important feedback from BRM VCFSE groups about their experiences of grant funding, systems change, and the support communities want to see through The Phoenix Way. These conversations are helping to inform a more equitable and inclusive approach to funding and community development. Over the month, the team also attended and supported a range of networking and partnership events, strengthening relationships with BRM organisations and encouraging leadership and collaboration across communities.
Some key highlights included:
📍 The official launch gala of Colour of My Skin (COMS) in Manchester, an inspiring event attended by over 320 guests from the business, community, arts, and public sectors, celebrating COMS’ commitment to equality, unity, and racial harmony.
📍 The PEP Enterprise Launch & Lead event, bringing together BRM/GEM community builders to explore opportunities for stronger leadership, representation, and long-term impact within communities.
Alongside these events, we carried out visits and one-to-one support sessions with a diverse range of BRM VCFSE organisations, supporting groups to establish, grow, and continue delivering vital work across the North West.
We also welcomed Blackburn MP Adnan Hussain to our offices for an important discussion about the work Inclusive North is leading and how BRM communities in Blackburn and across the region can engage with Inclusive North to strengthen and grow the BRM VCFSE sector.
If you’re an organisation, community group, or individual who wants to connect, collaborate, or learn more about our work, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can create lasting impact across the North West.
