Better known as the 'Air Cadets', we’re a UK-wide cadet force with more than 40,000 members aged between 13 and 20 years. We're sponsored by the Royal Air Force and can give you hands-on experience of activities and courses that will challenge and develop your skills to help you succeed in whatever you want to do.

November update.

The squadron has been busy this month supporting the Royal British Legion with Poppy selling and Remembrance parade which was completed in typical Blackpool weather. We have also had several Cadets away on Camps at Inskip Cadet Centre and all our New Cadets are away this weekend on a First Class development camp.

Lastly We have had some promotion boards this month with us promoting a Flight Sergeant, Sergeant and a Corporal. We have even had a staff promotion with our OC being promoted to Flight Lieutenant. Well done to all that have achieved promotion.

Are you at Blackpool Airshow today?

Then why not come down and meet staff and Cadets from 177, 206 & 2454 Squadron showing you what the being an air cadet has to offer?!

We have flight sims in use and we are also showing practical life saving skills like First Aid. Why don’t you have a go at our STEM activities!
Come along and take a look at what you could get involved with.

We’re also looking for new adult instructors so please feel free to come and ask questions and see what we do.

Tonight we said goodbye to CI Thompson who leaves us tonight to move to Cornwall. CI Thompson has been part of the squadron since 2012 as a Cadet and a member of staff. During her time as Cadet her favourite memories were fieldcraft camps and her overseas camp to Gibraltar. When CI Thompson became a member of staff she took up the role of social media officer and has improved our social media footprint no end since taking up the role. She plans to transfer to Redruth Squadron our loss is there gain.

Good luck CI Thompson we wish you all the best for your new life down in Cornwall.

Today, our amazing cadets from 2454 Squadron proudly took part in the Armed Forces Parade at the Cenotaph in Blackpool 🇬🇧✈️.

Marching with pride, discipline, and respect, they represented both our squadron and the wider Air Cadet community with honour — a moving tribute to all who serve and have served. 💂‍♀️🕊️

We couldn’t be prouder of their commitment and professionalism. A huge well done to everyone involved — you’ve done Blackpool proud! 👏💙
