The Bishop’s Stortford Carnival Parade and Fun Day returns on Saturday 20 June, and we’re excited to showcase an incredible line-up of local performers who will be bringing energy, creativity and entertainment to Sworders Field throughout the afternoon🎉

Across two performance arenas, visitors will be able to enjoy a fantastic mix of music, dance and theatre from talented groups and performers from across the community, including:

The Carnival Parade & Fun Day returns on Saturday 20 June 2026, and we’re still welcoming applications from traders, caterers, classic cars and parade participants looking to be part of this fantastic community celebration.🌭

This year’s theme, “Stortford Old and New,” celebrates the town’s rich history alongside the creativity and energy of today. From local businesses and community groups to performers and volunteers, we’re inviting everyone to help bring the day to life.🤹🏽

The celebrations begin with the vibrant Carnival Parade departing from South Mill Arts at 11:15am, travelling through town before arriving at Sworders Field for the Fun Day opening at 12 noon.

Visitors can then enjoy an afternoon packed with live entertainment, a fun fair, community groups, food, activities and a wide variety of stalls until 5pm.

🎉 Bishop’s Stortford Carnival Parade & Fun Day 2026 is almost here! 🎉

One of the biggest community celebrations of the summer is quickly approaching.

Join us on Saturday 20 June as Bishop’s Stortford comes alive with this year’s carnival theme: “Stortford Old and New” – where past meets present, celebrating the town’s history and its future 🏰✨

The Carnival Parade will depart from South Mill Arts at 11.15am, bringing colour, music and energy through the town centre. The celebrations continue with the Fun Day on Sworders Field from 12–5pm, packed with entertainment and activities for all ages.

Enjoy live performances across two arenas, a funfair, family activities, and a wide variety of food stalls, crafts and local traders. Community groups and charities will also be there showcasing their work and helping to make the day a true celebration of local spirit.

Whether you're coming to watch the parade, enjoy the entertainment, browse the stalls, or simply soak up the atmosphere, it’s the perfect day for the whole community to come together and celebrate. ☀️

Calling all young creatives in Bishop’s Stortford!

Our logo competition is still open to all primary, secondary, and college students, and we’d love to see your ideas!

We’re inviting students to design a brand new Town Council logo that represents our town’s heritage, community spirit, and exciting future. Think local landmarks, green spaces, community icons: anything that captures what Bishop’s Stortford means to you.

You can design it your way: hand-drawn, digital, or a creative mix of both.

The winning entry will receive a £250 Discover Stortford Gift Card
And will become the new Town Council logo, replacing the current Historic Market Town design!
