Hatfield Forest NT

Hatfield Forest NT The last Forest No other forest on earth evokes the atmosphere of a medieval hunting forest so completely. We welcome feedback – both positive and negative.

The ancient trees of the forest are like magnificent living sculptures, peaceful giants worn and fragile from centuries of seasons and use. You too can find your own special place somewhere in Hatfield Forest.

As we come to the end of volunteer week, we need to thank our wonderful corporate volunteers. They come on mass and get stuck in!

Over the last year we've had various departments from London Stansted Airport, as well as regular monthly tasks with Pitney Bowes. They have come in rain and shine and helped out with all sorts of things over the site, from fence removal to litter picking, ecological surveys to wood pasture restoration. A big thank you to them from all at the Forest!

This volunteers week we would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of our volunteers here at the Forest. You will find them out and about in all weather quietly going about their duties and helping to keep the Forest tick over.

From coppicing to ecological surveying, managing the bookshop to mowing the grass, from wood pasture restoration to litter picking, they pitch in and help with anything and everything!
