Woodland School

We had a great Family Night last week with everyone joining in with the archery, slack lining, campfire cooking, team games and songs. Donna, our cook, was busy all night face painting with some unusual requests, including a capybara!

Butterknowle School

Yesterday, the Year 6 children went to Blackbirds to spend sometime with Nursery and Reception. Blackbirds enjoyed listening to a story read by the Year 6s before showing them around the provision. The Year 6s enjoyed time visiting the 'hairdressers', built a fantastic dragon from the junk modelling resources and were introduced to Sheila the African snail.

💧🌦 What is the Water Cycle and How Does It Work? 🌦💧

This week, our brilliant Year 3 and 4 pupils have been on a scientific adventure to answer a big question:

👉 What is the water cycle and how does it work?

Through hands-on learning and creative thinking, the children explored key processes like evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and accumulation discovering how water moves around our planet in a never-ending cycle.

To bring their learning to life, they worked together to create amazing 3D diagrams that show the water cycle in action! 🌀💧 From fluffy cotton wool clouds to blue rivers and labelled arrows, every part of their models tells a story of how water changes and travels.

We’re so proud of their curiosity, teamwork, and fantastic explanations. Not only do they now know what the water cycle is they can tell you exactly how it works!
