Humanity faces a profound crisis: a devastating pandemic, soaring poverty, inequality and insecurity, with escalating rivalries between the world’s wealthiest nations, leading to global conflicts and wars. Environmental destruction and climate change already devastate the lives of millions of people and threaten humanity’s extinction. We are in a race against time to prevent this outcome. The only answer is to fight for socialism: a system in which resources are democratically controlled and rationally organised to meet humanity’s needs rather than those of a tiny minority. No capitalist ruling class has ever given up power voluntarily; it will take mass direct action, a revolution led by the working class and its most oppressed layers. The RCG exists as a vehicle to strengthen the revolutionary anti-racist, anti-imperialist trend within the working class in Britain, to fight for open and democratic organising to ensure that all those involved have a say in building the new movement. SATURDAY 22 AUGUST💥 MARCH TO AYOUB KHAN’S OFFICE 🚩 STOP OPERATION FEARLESS!

Operation Fearless has flooded Handsworth with racist policing, immigration enforcement, and homeless arrests – a joint effort by West Mids police, Your Party MP Ayoub Khan, local Labour, Green and Independent councillors, and Soho BID.

At the protest in May, and at our weekly speakouts, residents of Handsworth have spoken out about the fear and intimidation the Operation has brought – all the while, health, housing, and social services continue to be cut.

Increased policing only deepens inequality! Yet local government officials continue to support the racist Operation Fearless. NO ONE who is part of the state will handle this for us – we must confront this directly, and fight back!

🇨🇺 The shining example of socialism today is threatened by a genocidal blockade strangling the Cuban people. International solidarity has never been more necessary – yet prominent organisations of the British left are instead siding with the aggressor.

Ostensibly socialist organisations here in Britain are doing the imperialists’ dirty work for them, crossing class lines and manufacturing consent for the attacks.

We cannot give ground to these opportunists who are using Cuba’s dire situation to launch further attacks against its revolution. We must urgently fight back in full, unconditional defence of socialist Cuba and help put an end to this blockade.

100 YEARS OF FIDEL!💥

Today marks 100 years since Cuba’s revolutionary commander in chief, Fidel Castro, was born.

‘I am a Marxist-Leninist and I shall be a Marxist-Leninist until the day I die.’ – Fidel Castro after the defeat of the Bay of Pigs invasion in 1961.

Fidel’s legacy in the armed resistance, in internationalism, in the building of Cuban socialism, lives on in socialist Cuba. Since the 1959 Revolution, Cuba has emerged as a nation with outstanding human development indices in health, education, sport and culture, with a globally recognised record of international solidarity – even through the devastating US blockade which is only worsening. This is the example of democracy and freedom which Cuba has contributed to the world.

Last year, Birmingham RCG held a webinar to celebrate the legacy of Fidel, and to continue in our task of building revolutionary solidarity with Cuba here in Britain. This year, our comrades are in Cuba, witnessing the Centenary of Fidel and bringing with them critical aid for Cuba’s hospitals and schools. The genocidal blockade on Cuba is strangling a nation that prioritises people over profit.

✊We will start our rolling picket at the Shaheed Udham Singh Centre on Soho Rd, a site of community wellbeing and organisation.

🚩We will then march to the Soho BID office – who encouraged Operation Fearless in hopes of improving profits by pushing marginalised people aside.

📣Next is the Handsworth police depot. The police are a violent arm of the racist state; they carry out racist profiling, stop and searches, home raids and homeless arrests. They maintain inequality and protect private property.

🪧Finally, we will march to Ayoub Khan MP's office. Khan, the Independent MP of the area and director of Your Party, fully supports the spending of £1mil on racist policing – while overseeing devastating austerity in Handsworth.

No one who is part of the state will stand up for us and fight against state racism! We have to expose their roles and organise ourselves into an anti-racist force!

Yesterday we had a teach in and craft session to make messages of solidarity with trans Cubans for our upcoming delegation to Cuba! ¡Viva Cuba Socialista!🇨🇺 SWIPE ->

Viva Cuba Socialista! Cuba, through its deeply embedded model of participatory democracy, instituted the 2022 Family Code, which bolstered trans rights, normalised various family types, and solidified legal rights for women, children and reproductive rights. Disabiiity rights were also a major theme in the document, which was written by Cubans, for Cubans!

Cuba provides the threat of a good example, which is why the US so violently opposes the Cuban revolution, which shines in human indicators amongst its peers, and even rich, imperialist countries in some metrics.

Now, more than ever, Cuba needs our unwavering solidarity, as their gains are attacked by the ruthless, illegal US blockade. Infant mortality has doubled in a Cuba since 2018, a result of the blockade, which has now been ramped up to stranglehold energy in Cuba, leaving hospitals unable to operate, services unable to run and blackouts across the country.

Crucially, this restricts healthcare for trans people, with crucial medication amongst the most affected as they are produced by US companies that are prohibited from trading with Cuba by the US blockade.

We heard from BIRMINGHAM QU**RS FOR PALESTINE on the struggle for trans rights here in Britain, and how the state fears the type of action that Cubans undertook to secure their revolution.

We heard from Grupo Trans Masculinos de Cuba from Cuba, who shared the difficulties the US blockade poses, as well as how they organise as a community group in Cuba, and how they are supported by the government agency CENESEX, to advocate for trans rights amongst the population.

We heard from an RCG comrade who had recently visited Cuba on a solidarity brigade earlier in the year, to hear how material aid alone will not be enough in the long term. We must build a solidarity movement right here in Britain and demand an end to the genocidal US blockade, with which the British state is all too happy to comply with, militarily, and financially.

We will take our messages of solidarity on the next brigade, which starts in just a few days

Socialist Cuba is currently under a devastating blockade which limits their access to the materials they need to deliver the trans healthcare they have constitutionalised. We are going to Cuba on the José Martí brigade in August, and will deliver these donations!

Labour councillor of Soho & Jewellery Quarter Shuranjeet Singh refused to say 'Free Palestine' when he came to challenge our Stop Operation Fearless speakout.

This comes as no surprise; Shuranjeet Singh's support of brutal, racist stop & search, immigration controls, and police violence is an emulation of the racist, imperialist Labour Party he is part of, which has always supported the occupation & genocide in Palestine and deepened racism here in Britain.

He, along with other councillors and community leaders, postures as 'progressive' while proudly endorsing the racist state violence that attacks the most oppressed sections of the working class. They work to undermine and police any revolutionary movement from within the community.
