Following a meeting with the Pride in Place team last Friday in Kingstanding, we can share that applications are now open for the local board.

It’s hugely important that local residents apply to represent the area on this board, to make sure that your voice is heard on how the £20m is spent.

Expressions of interest must be in by 21st June.

Tories doing a grubby deal with the Lib Dem Green coalition now running the city. What a surprise…

Reform UK Birmingham have today seen exactly why so many voters have lost faith in the Conservative Party.

After the Conservatives voted with the Greens, Lib Dems and Independents, Reform UK has been frozen out of scrutiny chair positions on Birmingham City Council despite being the largest opposition group and holding the largest democratic mandate of any opposition party.

Rather than standing up for proper opposition and accountability, the Conservatives chose to side with a left-wing coalition to keep Reform out of key scrutiny roles.

People are fed up with the old parties working together whenever Reform starts challenging the status quo. Time and again, when given the choice between backing democratic representation or protecting the political establishment, the Conservatives choose the establishment.

Birmingham residents voted for change. Today’s vote shows that the Conservatives would rather help the Greens, Lib Dems and Independents maintain their grip on council committees than allow Reform a fair role in holding the administration to account.

Reform UK Birmingham will continue to fight for transparency, accountability and the residents who elected us, regardless of how hard the old parties try to shut us out.

Meeting of the City Council - Continuation of 19 May 2026 Meeting - Friday 5 June 2026, 6:00pm - Birmingham City Council Webcasting

We welcome the announcement from the city council that the move to a fortnightly waste collection service will not currently progress. However this pause needs to lead to a complete scrapping of the proposal.

Residents in Birmingham want an efficient, weekly waste and recycling collection service that works - not more net zero tick boxing that makes their lives more difficult.

The idea that the city could move to a new fortnightly system at a time when there’s an ongoing bin dispute and recycling hasn’t been collected since early 2025 was obviously completely ridiculous and would have caused chaos.

While other parties have ruled out working with Reform UK, our focus remains on the people who elected us. As the largest group on the council, we will continue to stand up for residents and support practical, common-sense policies that improve core services, protect taxpayers’ money and deliver results.
