Recently I was proud to be part of the 'Reclaim the Valley' campaign, alongside my son and my nieces.

The campaign, led by MP Sarah for West Bromwich, comes in response to the recent assault of a woman at Sandwell Valley and aims to make sure everyone feels safe and able to enjoy our local spaces without fear.

It was important for me to stand up with the next generation and show that we all have a part to play in creating safer communities. We should never accept violence or intimidation as something people simply have to live with.

Together, we can reclaim our spaces, support one another and make our community safer for everyone.

Great to be back out on the doorstep talking to residents in Tividale alongside Sarah for West Bromwich, MP for West Bromwich, Cllr Maria Crompton for Tividale for Tividale, and Labour activists from West Bromwich CLP.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us and share their concerns. We’ve listened, and these issues have been logged.

Understandably, many residents told us they are concerned about the cessation of safety road works across Sandwell under the Reform administration.

Definitely disgraceful ....scrutiny is equals to transparency...these are not optional, they are a core part of democracy. This decision sends the wrong message to residents whom am sure expect accountability from day one not when it suits you.
