Freedom from Torture West Midlands Supporters Since we opened in 2009 we have received over 300 referrals.

Freedom from Torture (the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture) is the only national charity in the UK solely dedicated to treating men, women and children who have survived the atrocities of torture and organised violence. Our West Midlands centre is based in the Jewellery Quarter Birmingham where we provide psychological, social and legal support to survivors of torture living i

n the local area. At the current time, the majority of our clients come from Iran, Sri Lanka, Iraq, Afghanistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo, but we also see survivors of torture from many other countries.
