There’s lots to celebrate this summer with the FIFA World Cup, the Women’s T20 World Cup and other major sporting events to enjoy. ⚽ 🏏 🏃

We love seeing passion and pride for our teams, but please remember to only display flags on your own property and not on lampposts, railings or street furniture.

By keeping displays on private property, we can celebrate safely and keep our streets clear for everyone.

Overnight, Blues’ Paik Seung-ho became the first Birmingham-based player to take to the field at this year’s FIFA World Cup, playing 84 minutes of Korea Republic’s win over Czechia.

A total of 11 Aston Villa and Birmingham City players are representing their countries on football’s biggest stage this summer.

An exciting summer of sport begins tonight with the opening game of the FIFA World Cup.

Birmingham has a proud history of making its mark on the world’s biggest football stage. 🙌

From hosting matches at the 1966 World Cup to innovations like the referee’s whistle, our city has played its part in shaping the game.

Add to that more than 500 England caps earned by Villa and Blues players combined, World Cup winners who’ve worn our club’s shirts, as well as 11 players in this year’s tournament, the impact is clear.

From past to present, Birmingham continues to help write the story of football.

Here’s to a memorable tournament!

We're here to support them and the National is a great opportunity to recognise and highlight the work they do. ✅

Birmingham Forward Carers runs the Birmingham Carers Hub which provides a range of services including:
✔️ statutory carer assessments
✔️ advice, information and guidance
✔️ practical, emotional and peer support including 1:1 support and carers groups
