🚘 100 days of confusion and chaos with Reform running Sandwell Council continues.

Over 100 days of Reform running Sandwell Council 🤔

👎 One of Reform's first decisions was to take away food vouchers from 24,000 of the poorest children and families two days before the school holidays started.

📝 Labour kept the scheme running through the Easter holidays. We would also have kept the vouchers this year to help with the cost of living.

🙁 Despite all the bluster from Reform, this was their decision. They had a clear choice and could have kept the vouchers - other Councils have managed to do it.

❌ Under Reform's new scheme only 150 families have received a crisis payment this summer to date.

Another failure.

🤔 It’s now been over 100 days of Reform leading Sandwell Council and what have they got to show for it?

❌ ️From broken promises about free parking to taking away food vouchers for children and cancelling meetings - Reform are out of their depth.

👍 We will continue to hold the new Reform administration to account, and ask the questions you want to ask that they don't want to answer.

👍 Another super Saturday from the Sandwell team. We've been out across Smethwick, Tipton & Wednesbury and West Bromwich constituencies listening to residents and picking up new community issues.

Another broken promise from the Reform led council.

📌 If you drive through Blackheath town centre, please be aware that the ‘bus gate’ is now live.

It is a section of road reserved for buses, pedal bikes and the emergency services between Birmingham Road and Long Lane. The bus gate is well signed and has a different colour surface, to warn motorists of the restricted area.

Any unauthorised vehicle seen on CCTV driving through the bus gate will receive a £70 penalty charge notice (PCN). This is reduced to £35 if paid within 14 days. The bus gate will be operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

You can still drive through Blackheath town centre along Market Place via the new road layout that was installed last year.

The bus gate is part of the new Blackheath Bus Interchange and aims to help bus passengers and other pedestrians feel safer when shopping in the town centre.

Come along to Blackheath and support local businesses and market traders, find out what they have to offer and see the recent improvements made to the town centre.
