Foster Birmingham

Foster Birmingham We are Foster Birmingham, part of Birmingham Children's Trust, and Birmingham's Biggest Family! We are recruiting foster carers now - call 0121 303 7575!

We are dedicated to providing loving, stable and secure family homes for Birmingham children. We are thrilled you are here and considering fostering as foster carers really do have a profound and life-changing effect on the children and young people in their care. If you have the time in your life and love in your heart to help care for the most vulnerable children and young people in the city, we

would love to hear from you! We understand that it can be confusing deciding which agency to foster with, but it is worth considering that Birmingham Children’s Trust are responsible for all of the children who come into care in Birmingham. This means that when a child needs a foster family in Birmingham, we will always look to our own in-house foster carers first and will only look further afield when we have explored every possible option of meeting the child's needs from our in-house carers first. This means that our foster carers are more likely to get regular placements within their preferred age range. Unlike many of the other agencies we are a non-profit organisation, committed to improving children’s lives.

Could you make a difference to more than one child by becoming a foster carer?

In this Birmingham Mail feature, one of our very own carers, Tahira Ali, shares why keeping brothers and sisters together in foster care can make such a lasting difference.

Across Birmingham, more foster carers are needed for sibling groups, helping brothers and sisters stay together when they need each other most.

Think Independent Fostering Agencies pay more than councils?

That's a common misconception.

As part of our Money Matters series, foster carer Pamela shares her experience of transferring from an Independent Fostering Agency to a local council fostering service. While many people assume the financial difference is significant, Pamela found that wasn't necessarily the case.

Pamela's story is part of a UK-wide project sharing the experiences of foster carers and care-experienced people.

Recently, we brought together foster carers, children and staff for our annual Foster Walk at Cannon Hill Park... and what a fantastic day it was!

With perfect walking weather and plenty of smiles, families took part in a Trusty Bear themed treasure hunt walk, completing challenges along the route to collect letters and solve the mystery of Trusty's favourite summertime activity.

From Pass the Parcel and Giant Jenga to taking on the challenge of scoring a goal past one of our staff goalkeepers, everyone got involved and enjoyed a day full of laughter, teamwork and fun.

The adventure ended with a special appearance from Trusty himself, who was delighted to discover his favourite summertime activity once again. Silly bear! 🐻

Days like these remind us that fostering is about more than providing a home. It's about being part of a supportive community, creating lasting memories and belonging to Birmingham's Biggest Family.

Could you help make a difference to a child in Birmingham? If you've ever thought about fostering, we'd love to hear from you. Call our friendly team on 0121 303 7575, or enquire online at fosterbirmingham.co.uk
