When a grieving family asked for peace and unity and for their son’s horrific murder to not be weaponised, far-right figures answered by inciting violent riots and scapegoating. There is a difference between demanding justice and exploiting tragedy.

We’re proud to launch ‘Football for Everyone’ ⚽️

Birmingham venues The Flapper, Brig Café, and Glee Club are teaming up with Brummies United Against Racism for upcoming screenings.

We believe pride and diversity are not opposites. Inclusive and anti-racist values can be part of football culture and expressions of national pride.

Participating venues will display a shared Match Day Code of Conduct promoting respect, inclusion, and zero tolerance for discriminatory behaviour on match days.

Happy Eid to everyone celebrating from all of us at Brummies United Against Racism 🌙

Birmingham is at its best when we stand together in solidarity, friendship, and respect for one another.

If three boys of colour had avoided prison after r*ping teenage girls, there would be outcry from the far right.

But when the perpetrators are white, the silence is deafening.

Their “concern” for women and girls only seems to matter when it suits their agenda.

Enough is Enough.

The death of in Dublin on Friday 15th May should shock every one of us to our core.

A Black man pinned down by multiple security officers, crying out for help whilst dying in plain sight.

We saw this before. We said “never again” after the murder of George Floyd. Yet here we are again.

The knee is not just on one man’s neck.

The knee is on Black communities. On migrants and refugees. On all those targeted by racism, xenophobia and Islamophobia - forced to live under suspicion, hostility and dehumanisation.

For years, politicians, the media and the far-right have poisoned public discourse with rhetoric that paints migrants and racialised communities as threats, scroungers and criminals.

That language has consequences. It strips people of dignity. It creates a culture where violence becomes justified, where unequal treatment becomes normalised, and violence becomes normalised.

We refuse to stay silent while human beings are brutalised and dehumanised.

Justice for Yves Sakila.
Justice for every victim of racism and state violence.
Justice for communities forced to live under fear, the flag and suspicion.

Enough. Means. Enough.

Newly elected Birmingham councillors from across the political divide stood shoulder-to-shoulder outside the Council House yesterday, in a public show of solidarity against racism and division - with one notable exception: Reform UK councillors.

Following ’s first full council meeting since the local elections, councillors from multiple parties joined the Brummies United Against Racism and Hate Crime campaign, holding the organisation’s posters on the steps of the Council House in a powerful demonstration of unity.

No election candidate should be on the receiving end of death threats. Solidarity with Dr Desmond Jaddoo and all candidates across Birmingham and the UK that suffered racial abuse whilst campaigning.

In , we look out for each other. Always have.

We’re strongest when we stand up for one another, across race, identity and lived experience. We stand against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia. No exceptions.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
