🗺️✨ Our Year 1 pupils have been busy exploring their local area and creating fantastic maps! They confidently presented their work to their friends and included brilliant map keys with symbols to identify the wonderful spaces around Bidston Avenue Primary. 🌳🏫

We were so impressed with their creativity, attention to detail, and growing geographical skills. We may have some future cartographers in the making! 👏🌟

🎵✨ Today, our children (Years 3-6) enjoyed an amazing visit to Future Yard in Birkenhead, where they explored the exciting world of music and the many careers that help bring performances and productions to life! 🎤🎸

Through a range of enriching activities, children had the opportunity to play instruments, take part in percussion workshops, sing, and experience music production by layering percussion, beats, bass lines, hooks, and lyrics to create their own tracks. 🎶🥁🎹

The children also discovered the many roles behind the scenes of the music industry, learning about marketing, social media advertising, and graphic design. 📱🎨💡

They gained hands-on insight into the work of sound engineers, exploring microphones, mixing desks, volume control, and sound effects, as well as learning how lighting engineers use creative effects to enhance and complement live performances. 🎛️🎚️💡🎭

It was a fantastic day full of creativity, inspiration, and new experiences, helping our children broaden their horizons and discover the many opportunities available within the music and entertainment industry. 🌟

📸 This week, as part of the My Big Future Project, our Year 5 pupils had the fantastic opportunity to visit the University of Liverpool alongside the The Johnson Foundation. 🎓✨

They enjoyed exploring the campus, learning about student life, and taking part in taster sessions that showcased some of the exciting courses and opportunities available. The experience helped broaden horizons and inspire future aspirations for education, careers, and employment. 🚀

A huge thank you to the Johnson Foundation for making this incredible opportunity possible. We’re looking forward to the next project in our ongoing partnership with the University of Liverpool and continuing to create pathways to brighter futures. 🌟

Free School Meals are changing from September 2026.

More families may qualify, so we are encouraging all parents and carers to check their child’s eligibility.

Even if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 and already receives a free meal, please still check.

A successful check could also help your school receive extra funding to support pupils.

Please check through your local authority, as the application website is different depending on where you live.

The children showed great courage, balance, and determination as they tackled each challenge with confidence and enthusiasm. It was fantastic to see everyone encouraging one another and having so much fun outdoors! 😊💪
