OVERNIGHT ROAD WORKS/CLOSURE – CHURCH ROAD

The Parish Council has been notified by Essex Highways that Church Road in Ramsden Heath will be closed between 20:00 Friday, 11th September and 01:00 Saturday, 12th September. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while they undertake carriageway patching works on the stretch between Downham Road and Carsey Close. Access to and exit from the White Horse will be via the slip Road. The notification we have implies that they will reopen the road when they have finished work.

Please do not take your frustration out on the Traffic Management guys, it's not their fault. Remember they have body cams in case things get out of hand.

Access for emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.

No 10 BUS SERVICE TO BILLERICAY

The service has now been running for three weeks and we would appreciate feedback from anybody who has used or tried to use it. Please tell us – good or bad.

Roadworks issues at the Wickford end that have meant it sometimes arrives up to 10 minutes late and we are aware of a couple of missed runs.

Word is getting around and the numbers using the bus are slowly increasing. The promised publicity material to be delivered to every household has continued to be delayed but we are hoping it will arrive over the next couple of weeks once it has been approved. As you can see, we have included a full timetable with this post.

Children (5 to 15) travel free on buses this August scheme operates on all buses in the area. To travel for free, children simply need to board the bus and ask the driver for a child's ticket to their destination. This ensures they are accounted for financially as well as for safety

South Hanningfield Tye Play Area Announcement

Please can we make all residents aware the play equipment at South Hanningfield Tye will be out of use this Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th July 2026 for maintenance work.

🚌The Parish Council are pleased to announce the new 10A Bus Route from Ramsden Heath to Billericay will commence service from Monday 27th July 2026. 🚌

🕑Timetable:
The service will run Monday to Friday
The timetable will begin at 9:12am from Ramsden Heath, and the last return bus from Billericay High Street will be at 14:02. (Three services will run each way)

🎟Fares
The single fare cap for adults is £3. Bus passes will be valid on this service.
Children and U19's fare are still to be confirmed, we are trying to negotiate a reduced rate.

Funding has been granted for this service for 12 months. The possibility of extending the timetable and the continuation of the service will be based on the level of usage. Use it or lose it!

Huge thanks go to Cllr Peter Thurgood for all his hard work and effort in securing this service for the Parish.
