Honoured and incredibly proud to confirm my positions at Rother District Council for the 2026/27 civic year:

• Vice Chairman of Rother District Council
• Chairman of Licensing
• Vice Chairman of Planning
• Co-Chair of the Hastings & Rother Community Safety Partnership Board
• Neurodiversity Champion for Rother District Council
• Board Member for the Safer Communities East Sussex Board

As someone who grew up locally, came from a working-class background and now has the privilege of serving the community I love, these roles mean a huge amount to me personally.

I want to say a genuine thank you to colleagues and members from across all political parties and groups for their support, trust and encouragement. Politics works best when we work together respectfully, focus on the people we represent, and put our communities first.

There is a lot of work ahead, but I’m ready to continue standing up for residents, supporting safer communities, and helping ensure everyone across Rother has a voice.

Thank you again for the support — it truly means a lot 🧡

🚨 LAST 24 HOURS – POLLS OPEN 7AM TOMORROW 🚨

That’s it, the final push is here, I'm out and about from 9am today.
Tomorrow, Bexhill North gets its chance to vote.

Over the last few weeks I’ve walked the division, knocked doors, delivered thousands of leaflets, listened to residents and spoken to people who feel ignored.

No scripts. No spin. Just real conversations.

I’ve had a fantastic response from the public right across Bexhill North. From lifelong voters to people who’ve never voted before, many are saying the same thing, they want change and they want someone local who genuinely understands the area and the pressures people are facing.

If you want a local, working person who is experienced, approachable and understands the real issues we face every day, then tomorrow please vote for change.

Out and about in Little Common today, after it was reported by the Little Common Post Office and Tim Fenner from Friends of Little Common, I went down to take a look at the stickers, graffiti and general mess around the area, on the bins, lampposts and even the post box.
Rather than reporting it on and waiting around, I just got on with it and sorted it myself.
Cleaned it all up and got everything looking presentable again 👍

The team at Little Common Post Office were really pleased to see it sorted.
If you spot something locally that needs attention, let me know, always happy to help where I can.

🚨 Time to Fix Bexhill North! VOTE FOR CHANGE 🚨

Hi, I’m Jimmy Stanger – a real working bloke who lives here in Sidley with my young family. I manage the Sidley Working Men’s Club and I know exactly what normal families, older people, and all residents across the division are going through right now – the rising bills, cost of living struggles, and how tough it is to make ends meet.

I’m your Liberal Democrat candidate for Bexhill North (Sidley, St Stephens & West Bexhill) in the East Sussex County Council election on Thursday 7th May 2026.

I’m not a career politician. I’m a straight-talking local lad who’s not afraid to speak truth to power. In this local election, let’s ignore national politics and the things the County Council doesn’t control, like immigration, defence and national taxes.

I’m one of you and I’m fed up with the mess at County Hall.
💷 The Conservative council has had to borrow £70 million just to keep basic services running.
🛣️ Our roads are full of potholes.
🗑️ The new tip booking system is a nightmare and is pushing fly-tipping onto our streets.
💰 Families, older residents and local businesses are struggling every single day.

I believe in an Infrastructure First approach, fixing our roads, waste services and essential local infrastructure before anything else.
I’ll also fight to protect our rural areas from over-development so we keep the character of Bexhill North and the surrounding countryside.

I won’t promise miracles, I’ll promise honesty and hard work, from someone who actually understands your daily struggles 🧡

From day one I’ll be holding highways and contractors to account, fighting for value for every penny of your council tax, and pushing for practical fixes that make a real difference to people like us.

I’ve already shown I deliver on the District Council:
✅ Opposed the North Eye migrant centre
✅ Scrapped plans for new car park charges in Sidley & Little Common
✅ Pushed to reopen public toilets
✅ Delivered community events when the Carnival bypassed us

I’m out every month helping residents, clearing floods, cleaning beaches, and speaking up for local residents.

On 7th May, don’t waste your vote 😀

Vote for the straight-talking local working person who’ll actually graft for families, older people and everyone across our division.

✅ Vote Jimmy Stanger On The 7th May 2026 🧡

St Marks Ward Update

You may notice I’m a little quieter than usual on here over the next few weeks.

Due to the pre-election period (“purdah”), there are strict rules around what I can and can’t post, particularly anything that could be seen as promoting council activity or projects at Rother District Council.

I want to reassure everyone that I am still here, still working hard, and still dealing with residents’ issues as normal behind the scenes.

If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to get in touch: 📧 Email me
💬 Or send me a direct message

I’ll always do my best to help.
Back fully online after the 7th May 2026 👍

Thanks for your understanding,
Jimmy
