📬 Message from The Mayor:

"Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the Bexhill Beach Garden’s live music and refreshments afternoon, and what a wonderful event it was.

Thankfully, the weather held off, the music was flowing, and there was a fantastic turnout from both residents and visitors alike. It was especially lovely to meet people from outside the town who told me how much they enjoy visiting Bexhill and spending time in our beautiful seafront gardens.

I also had the opportunity to admire the wonderful lanterns created by the talented pupils of Battle Abbey School for display in the Beach Garden. It was fantastic to see young people contributing their creativity to such a special community space.

A huge thank you and well done to Lynn and the entire team for organising such a wonderful afternoon. It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces enjoying the colourful flowers, relaxing in the gardens, and listening to some excellent live music.

Events like these bring our community together and highlight the dedication of the volunteers who work tirelessly to make Bexhill such a special place. Their hard work and enthusiasm are truly appreciated.

Thank you once again for the invitation. It was a pleasure to attend, and I look forward to seeing many more successful events in the future. I also have the perfect excuse to visit again soon when the new wind chimes arrive!

Bexhill Beach Garden is a real asset to our town, and long may it continue to be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike."

📬Message from The Mayor:

"On Wednesday, I was delighted to attend Rother Voluntary Action's (RVA) Volunteers' Celebration Picnic.

Despite the rather wet weather, spirits certainly weren't dampened. Thanks to the kindness of Battle Memorial Hall, the event was able to move indoors at short notice, ensuring volunteers could still enjoy a wonderful afternoon together.

RVA put on a fantastic spread, with plenty of delicious snacks, cakes and scones for everyone to enjoy. It was also great fun taking part in some of the games and activities alongside the many volunteers who give so much of their time to support others.

RVA plays a vital role across Rother, supporting and championing local community groups, charities and social enterprises. Through their work, they help strengthen organisations that provide invaluable services to residents throughout our district and celebrate the incredible contribution volunteers make every day.

It was a pleasure to meet so many dedicated volunteers and to thank them personally for the difference they make within our communities. I also met the new Mayor of Battle, Sue Burton, and the Chairman of Rother, Mark Legg.

My sincere thanks to RVA for the invitation and for organising such an enjoyable event. I look forward to attending more of their events in the future and continuing to support the fantastic work they do across Rother."
