Residents and visitors will be greeted by a new series of colourful lamppost banners across Bewdley, as part of a wider initiative by Bewdley Town Council to help promote the town and encourage tourism throughout the summer months.

The recently installed banners will be displayed until September and are positioned on key routes into the town and within the town centre itself, creating an attractive visual welcome for those arriving in Bewdley.

A range of bespoke designs has been produced celebrating different aspects of Bewdley’s heritage, culture and identity. The artwork reflects elements of the town’s rich history, including the River Severn, Bewdley Bridge, the railway heritage of the town, Sir Stanley Baldwin, historic charters and civic traditions.

The initiative forms part of the Town Council’s continuing work to support the local economy, encourage visitor footfall and enhance civic pride.

Residents across Wyre Forest and the wider county are being asked to share their views on air pollution in a new survey.
The survey, led by Worcestershire Regulatory Services (WRS) in partnership with Worcestershire County Council, aims to understand how people feel about air quality, what they know about it, and how they would like to receive information in the future.
People are also being asked about actions they already take to help improve air quality, and what support might help them do more.
The survey can be completed here:
www.worcsregservices.gov.uk/all-services/pollution/air-quality/
More than 1,300 people responded to a similar survey in 2024. Their feedback highlighted concerns about public health, the environment and quality of life, and helped shape local work to reduce exposure to air pollution. This included improving workshops in schools and community groups and sharing clearer information with residents.

The first stage is the scoping consultation, it is about understanding what matters most to you, the key issues facing the district, and any information or evidence we should consider. It’s not about deciding where development should go at this stage.
