Our children and young people enjoyed a fantastic Pet Respect session at the RSPCA on Clough Road, Hull. 🐶

The session began with a warm welcome from a member of the RSPCA team, who shared valuable information about responsible pet ownership, animal welfare, and the importance of treating animals with kindness and respect. The interactive discussion encouraged children to think about how they can help care for pets and understand their needs.

The creative activities were a big hit, with children enjoying drawing and colouring, making their own dog toys, and creating bird feeders to take home. These hands-on crafts provided a fun way for everyone to learn more about caring for animals while expressing their creativity.

The highlight of the session was a special meet-and-greet with some of the RSPCA's animals. Children were excited to meet the animals up close, ask questions, and learn more about its care and wellbeing from the knowledgeable RSPCA staff.

Overall, the event was both educational and enjoyable, giving children the opportunity to learn about animal welfare, develop new skills, and take part in a memorable experience.

Thank you to the RSPCA team for their hospitality and engaging activities, which made the session such a success for everyone who attended.

💕 A warm welcome to Shell and Becky, who recently started their fostering journey and have already opened their home to two young boys.

They share their home with two much-loved Chihuahuas, Pippa and Penny, as well as a budgerigar and a goldfish.

As a couple, Shell and Becky enjoy a variety of creative and outdoor activities. Shell has a passion for nature, birdwatching, photography, and drumming, while Becky enjoys cooking, crafting, swimming, pottery painting, visits to the zoo, and spending time with friends and their children.

With their caring backgrounds and warm, nurturing approach, they are already making a positive difference. 🩷

Last week we had a great day bowling with children of our foster carers.

There were plenty of smiles, laughs, and, of course, a few strikes and spares along the way! 🎉🏆

We are delighted to welcome Lindsey, who has recently been approved as a foster carer, offering care to babies. 👶💕

Lindsey has brought up two children of her own and brings lots of experience of caring for and supporting children. She is warm, nurturing and committed to providing babies with a safe, loving and secure home.

Lindsey has already begun providing care and is doing an amazing job! She has embraced her new fostering role and is already making a really positive difference to the little one in her care. 🩷

On Wednesday our wonderful fostering community came together to enjoy 'Picnic and Games in the Park', which ended up being 'Picnic and Games in the Sports Hall' due to our typical British Weather. 😅

We didn't let that dampen our spirits though, we had a plan B, we was adaptable and we still pulled it off.

A good day was had by all, it was lovely to see smiling faces all round, and to quote one of the children who attended 'this has been the best day ever'. 🥰

We realised that our social workers loved dancing the macarena and dressing up in our photo booth a little too much and our participation worker rediscovered his love of nerf guns!

Bouncy castles, face painters, hair braiders, tattoo stations, messy play, sand pit, outdoor games, the 'our place bus', craft tables, a photo booth, nerf zone and a treasure hunt. No wonder we all slept well that night.

Thank you to everyone who attended you made the day truly special.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event, with a special mention going to Bridlington CYP who were amazing hosts.

Thankyou to Jolly Jumpers Bouncy Castle Hire who provided the bouncing fun and last but not least to each and every member of the fostering team who worked day and night to make this day a success, despite their crazy workloads.

We absolutely love bringing our fostering community together for fun days like this and there will be many more to come!

We are delighted to welcome Janice on recently being approved to provide short-break care.

Janice has raised three children of her own and brings a wealth of experience supporting children and young people. Now retired, she enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren, walking her dog Elvis, baking and getting creative with crafts. 🐶🍰

Janice is looking forward to providing children with fun, safe and relaxed short breaks.💗

Today, our fostering families enjoyed a fantastic couple of hours exploring the beautiful Eastrington Ponds Nature Reserve. 🌲
With the guidance of the wonderful Ben, children and carers took part in pond dipping, mini beast hunting and a flying insect search, discovering some of the amazing wildlife that calls the reserve home.

They also enjoyed the lovely walks surrounding the ponds, taking in the peaceful scenery and spending quality time together outdoors. The reserve provided the perfect setting for exploration, learning and making memories.

A huge thank you to Ben for sharing his expertise and making the activity so enjoyable for everyone who attended. 💗
