A very interesting speaker relived her journey from London to Kathmandu in an orange and white double decker bus in 1978! What an amazing but also scary trip it turned out to be!

A very Happy WI Day to all our wonderful East Yorkshire WI ladies as we celebrate 111 remarkable years of friendship, learning, laughter, and women supporting women. Today, as your Chairman, I want to honour not only the vibrant, dedicated members who keep our Federation thriving, but also all those who have gone before — the women whose courage, creativity, and determination built the foundations we proudly stand on. Their legacy lives in every meeting held, every campaign championed, every skill shared, and every moment of community we create together. Here’s to the past that shaped us, the present we cherish, and the future we continue to build — together, as Yorkshire women through and through.
