Our popular costume swap is here for Halloween and πŸ’š

Encouraging families to reuse and recycle children's costumes rather than purchasing new ones. Bring a costume or donate one to the rails in 9 of our libraries πŸ•·οΈ πŸŽƒ πŸ‘» πŸ§›πŸΎ
Every little counts to a more circular economy in the East Riding.

In our recent Festival of Words event, John Ironmonger and Alan Raw discussed the ways in which fiction can educate by connecting readers through emotion and empathy. Climate fiction, or "cli-fi," entertains and educates, gives alternate futures to consider and provides a new starting point to the conversations around climate change 🌍

This why not try something new with a climate fiction read? Set in both real and imagined futures, they offer examples of resilience and hope amongst the warnings of ignoring incremental climate change 🌱

Jigsaws! Challenge your problem solving skills, test your memory and sharpen fine motor skills with those 1000 puzzle pieces 🧩 We love our community jigsaw tables where customers work together to complete a puzzle from our collection.
Did you know that you can also borrow jigsaws from our libraries? Check out your next challenge from our collection here https://orlo.uk/jigsaws_QvrEG Then just return and exchange for a new one when you're finished.
Another simple way we're reducing waste and contributing to the circular economy in the East Riding (plus saving you clutter at home) πŸ’š

is a celebration of all the things we do to focus on sustainability in our libraries πŸ’š

Did you know that we have seed libraries on our mobiles and at North Bridlington library? Take some seeds or donate any you won't use 🌱
Just one of the many ways we are working towards a more circular economy in the East Riding.

Climate disinformation is the intentional spread of false or misleading information about climate change whilst misinformation is unintentional but just as damaging incorrect information 🌍
