NORTHUMBERLAND A1 SAFETY ALLIANCE (NASA)

It shouldn’t be rocket science.

Over the coming months, NASA will compile and publish the definitive 10-year safety record of the A1 through Northumberland.

We will document:

• Fatal collisions
• Serious injuries
• Collision locations
• Road conditions
• Safety concerns raised by communities
• Promises made by authorities
• Progress made – or not made

This is not a political campaign.

This is not a blame campaign.

This is an evidence project.

Too many people have lost their lives. Too many families have been affected. Too many questions remain unanswered.

If you have information, reports, photographs, local knowledge, historical records, media coverage or personal experience relevant to A1 safety, we would like to hear from you.

Our aim is simple:

To produce the most comprehensive public record ever assembled on safety along the A1 through Northumberland.

🏡 Our pubs are at the heart of communities across Northumberland. They create jobs, support local suppliers, welcome visitors, and provide a vital meeting place for residents.

⚠️ Labour’s latest business rates revaluation risks penalising pubs that have invested in improving their premises, attracting visitors, serving quality food, and creating family-friendly spaces.

📈 Under the guidance, pubs with:
✅ Attractive locations
✅ Outdoor seating areas
✅ Larger car parks
✅ Children’s play areas
✅ Premium food offerings

Are facing much higher business rates bills.

❓ In other words, the better your pub is doing, the more Labour wants to tax it.

🍻 Higher rates on successful rural pubs will discourage investment and place further pressure on businesses already struggling with rising costs.

💙 Conservatives believe businesses should be rewarded for investing in their communities, not punished for it.

🚫 Northumberland’s pubs deserve support, not another tax raid.

The Conservative Party will CLOSE the shocking loophole that allows husbands who claim more than one wife to get additional benefits.

In Britain, marriage is between two people. Foreign nationals who marry multiple wives overseas should not be allowed to unfairly benefit.

Our analysis has revealed that a home with one husband and four wives would claim up to £78,229 per year - £39,406 more than a standard couple. It even shows that a household with eleven wives could claim a shocking £170,175 per annum.

We will close this loophole.

Our welfare state should reflect British values of equality between men and women, fairness for taxpayers, and respect for the law.
