Berwick is fortunate to have fantastic community groups, volunteers and local organisations working hard for our town.

Colin R Hardy knows that first-hand. Over the years he has volunteered with Berwick CAB, served as a school governor, been involved with Berwick Harriers and dedicated countless hours to charity fundraising.

Berwick Town Council can play its part too, supporting community organisations and helping local events and traditions that bring people together.

If elected, Colin will be a visible and active councillor, working with local groups and backing the people who give their time to make Berwick a better place.

🏃 NORTHUMBERLAND CONSERVATIVES BACK KIELDER MARATHON

Conservative-led Northumberland County Council has renewed its support for the Kielder Marathon in 2026, continuing a partnership that has been in place since the event began.

This year the Council will also fund six places for children in care to take part in the junior races, with Altra generously providing around £1,500 of running shoes and clothing.

We're proud to support an event that brings people to Northumberland, promotes healthy and active lifestyles and gives our young people the chance to be part of something special.

Berwick is a beautiful and historic town, and Colin Hardy believes we should take pride in keeping it looking its best.

Berwick Town Council helps look after public spaces across the town, including planting and maintaining hanging baskets and planters, alongside benches, bins and other local facilities.

Colin wants to see a cleaner, greener and well kept Berwick that residents can be proud of and visitors want to return to.

It might seem like the small stuff, but getting the basics right makes a real difference to how our town looks and feels.

🚲 Tackling dangerous and illegally ridden bikes

Residents should be able to walk around their neighbourhoods and use our streets safely.

Colin R Hardy wants action on dangerous and illegally ridden bikes causing problems in residential areas across Berwick.

If elected to Berwick Town Council, Colin will work with Northumbria Police, Northumberland County Council and other partners to make sure concerns are heard and action is taken.

This is about common sense, safer streets and respect for other people.

For Colin R Hardy, Berwick isn't somewhere he has simply come to represent, it's his home.

Colin lives in Castle Ward, went to school in Berwick and has been involved in our local community for more than 50 years.

From running Berwick Harriers and volunteering locally to serving as a school governor and representing the area on Northumberland County Council, Colin has spent decades giving something back to the town.

He knows our community, understands the issues residents face and wants to continue working for the place he calls home.

🚌 Better bus shelters for Berwick

Colin Hardy wants to see better maintained bus shelters and better information for passengers across Berwick.

For people who rely on the buses to get to work or visit family, having a clean, well-maintained shelter and knowing when the next bus is coming matters.

If elected, Colin will push for bus shelters to be properly maintained and electronic timetable information at bus stops.

Colin believes a councillor should concentrate on the everyday issues that make a real difference to residents.

For many years, Colin has dedicated his time to raising awareness and funds for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
