It’s been a big day for Nettlefield Primary School, who have been celebrating 90 years of serving the wider East Belfast community.

If you’re down around City Hall tonight after 8pm, you’re in for a treat as my colleague Councillor Bradley Ferguson has successfully secured the building to be lit up in Nettlefield colours! ♥️💚

Well done to past and present pupils, staff, governors, parents and all those who have made Nettlefield a wonderful school.

🎉 Celebrating 90 Years of School, Community and Memories! 🎉

Since opening our doors in 1936, our school has been a place where thousands of students have learned, grown, and created lifelong friendships.

Over the last nine decades, we’ve seen countless changes—from chalkboard classrooms to modern digital spaces—but our core spirit, dedicated teachers and incredible community have remained the exact same.

It was great to share the day with so many of our past and present staff and pupils, Board of Governors and also friends of Nettlefield. A special mention has to go to our very own Judith Acheson and Nettlefield Multi-Sports Facility for organising a great afternoon and the launch of Judith's book, 'The Story of Nettlefield'. Every pupil received a copy of this book alongside a commemorative coin too.

Thank you for being part of our journey! The BIG 100 next 💚❤

🌟 Congratulations to Our New School Leaders! 🌟

We are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl for this academic term.

These pupils have demonstrated outstanding commitment, responsibility and leadership within our school community. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and know they will be excellent role models for our younger pupils.🟢🔴
