Would there be so much opposition from people like Jim Allister or Sammy Wilson if a stadium to host the Euros was being built somewhere other than West Belfast? Somehow, I don’t think so.

Casement Park WILL be built.

What we need now is a greater urgency to have it ready on time for the Euros. Imagine on the 30th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, we are coming together in Belfast to celebrate one of the biggest sporting events in the world at Casement Park for Euro 2028.

That should be our focus right now.

This stretch of grass in Moyard was not only an eye-sore for residents, but it also caused difficulty for children looking to use this space to play.

✅️ After some negotiation, I am grateful for NIHE contractors for cutting this today rather than August as scheduled.

Some happy kids in the area tonight!

NIHE have advised that after some delay, all areas of West will be covered as quickly as possible. Andersonstown is also currently being completed.

We can't let the opportunity of Casement Park hosting the Euros slip away. This community needs a lift and the investment this event brings would reach right across the city.

Just finished a very busy advice clinic in the community again today.

Much of the issues that many people are experiencing right now relating to housing, health, education and food insecurity need to be addressed by the Executive.

It is unnaceptable that 100 days have now passed with no action.

What are they doing?

Today I delivered a petition with over 700 signatures to the DFI Minister demanding action on hazardous pavements in the Andersonstown area of West Belfast and beyond.

I have proposed two possible solutions to date:

✅️ Use same approach as Translink at each Glider stop and shave-down pavement leaving rough surface

✅️ Apply an anti-slip coating to all areas impacted

Too many people have fallen now or avoid these areas all together for fear of injury. We demand a response from the department now!
