Duckweed or Blue-Green Algae? Know the Difference
🌿 Duckweed is a small floating plant that can form dense mats and is a natural part of many freshwater environments.
🦠 Blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) are naturally occurring microscopic organisms that can form blooms or scums. Some blooms can produce toxins that may be harmful to people, pets and wildlife.
If unsure, avoid contact, keep dogs away and follow local signs.
