🪖 A Coy Battlecamp | 29–31 May 2026

🌧️ Damp start to Saturday, but that certainly hasn’t stopped our cadets and staff from getting stuck into training! 💪

🚛 With the support of 152 (NI) Regt, Royal Logistic Corps (RLC), the cadets had the fantastic opportunity to experience how they live and work in the field, learning more about military life and getting up close to some impressive vehicles. 👏

👀 From fieldcraft skills to seeing equipment in action, it has been a great learning experience for everyone involved.

🙌 A huge shout-out and thank you to 152 (NI) Regt RLC for their continued support and for helping to make this weekend such a success. Your time, effort and expertise are greatly appreciated! ⭐

💚🖤💛

A Coy Battlecamp | 29–31 May 2026

A busy Battlecamp taking place this weekend, with 2⭐️, 3⭐️, and senior cadets deployed from Friday night, followed by the 1⭐️ cadets from Saturday morning.

Cadets will be developing their skills in harbour drills, standing patrols, contact drills and much more, as part of their preparation for Summer Camp 2026.

Throughout the weekend, cadets will be tested on their teamwork and determination, pushing them out of their comfort zones, building confidence along the way.

It will be a great weekend of training for everyone involved. ☀️👏

Congratulations to WO2 Steele and Sgt O’Connor who recently attended the first official Army Cadets Drill Course at Frimley CTC, where both successfully completed the course with outstanding results.
This achievement will now enable them to effectively deliver and maintain the required standards of drill instruction throughout the Battalion/Companies, while also passing on their newly gained skills and knowledge to others.
To top it off, both have also been invited back to assist on future courses as ADS instructors a fantastic recognition of their professionalism, dedication, and high standards throughout the course.
Well done to both!

A staff Appreciation including 3 of our own instructors from 1st (NI) Battalion who assisted on this week’s Gold Expedition

🌟 Staff Appreciation Post - Capel Curig 🌟

A massive thank you to the team who came and supported the National Gold The Duke of Edinburgh's Award expedition in North Wales this year.

‘Overcoming challenges’ was definitely the theme for this event from the planning through to ex*****on. Not only with the base location ( ) but also with the extreme weather and heat that was encountered by the participants.

From making sure that the teams were kept safe, hydrated, looked after from the sun and making any necessary adjustments that were needed, it was great to see the team come together again with a couple of new members. Major Simon Chaplin, expedition lead, added, ‘It amazes me how well you all work together to ensure that a successful expedition can take place. It is a testament to your dedication and commitment to the Army Cadets UK and your willingness to adapt when necessary. Above all, the professionalism that you bring to this event gives the event coordinator the satisfaction of being able to rely on your inherent skills to not just do a job but do it really well.

I know that all the participants appreciate the hard work that you have all put in over this week.

Now that it has concluded for another year, we are always looking forward to the next and I hope that you will all wish to return to Wales to assist then.

Words cannot say enough how lucky I am working with such a fine team of CFAVs. I could not do this event without your support and I thank you so much and look forward to working with you again.’

Thanks to you all!
