Children must be with an adult for this trip and priority will be given to families with children due to the nature of the trip.

Zara was delighted to have attended this event today in the backdrop of what was a very difficult night across the city.

Well done to all the children you are a credit to your schools and your communities 💜💙

Today, despite local disruption, children of P5 and P6 took part in the final Peace Builders NI event of the year where children celebrated becoming Peace Builders and promoting peace during these difficult times. Thank you to all of the children and staff involved.

Unfortunately due to circumstances across the city we have had to cancel tonights Wednesday Drumming Group as we are unsure about what is happening with regards to protests and we dont want to bring young people out encase there are any issues.

Transport Hub - planned works

As part of the ongoing works to the public realm around Belfast Grand Central Station, we will be installing new paving to the footpath at the eastern end of Grosvenor Road outside the Fitzwilliam Hotel, as follows:-

To ensure this work is carried out safely there will be 1 lane closed westbound on Grosvenor Road, between Great Victoria Street and Athol Street, starting Monday 15th June 2026 for 1 week to allow new kerbs to be installed (see attached traffic management plan).
The footpath on the south side of Grosvenor Road will be closed between the Great Victoria Street junction and Durham Street junction for 4 weeks. Pedestrians will be directed at the crossings at both ends of Grosvenor Road, to use the northern footpath.

GVRT , Fit 4 Life and TREE NI will all be closing at 4pm today in order to allow staff , to travel home safely in light of the news of possible protests across the city tonight.

The right to protest is a fundamental human right , however this community and our area in particular has suffered seriously in the past after the events of the summer in 2024 , especially our young people who are still facing sentencing and are still having to engage in youth justce. We dont want to see anymore young people getting into trouble , facing any criminal convictions or getting injured.

We are aware that the Donegall Road is one of the areas listed on the internet and have been contacted by residents who are concerned and want to know what is happening. So far we are not hearing that this location is indeed one of the areas planning to hold a protest but if this is the case we would appeal for people to remain calm and not to enage in any violence and to express their anger peacefully.
